There you go, that's why homage watches were invented - to go shopping in

I would not let any chugger hug me, in fact I would not let any stranger hug me. TBH I am not to keen on the family doing it.

Haha - I thought exactly that. At least I’m not the only one

You are definitely not the only one. As far as I’m concerned social distancing should be here to stay. And as for shaking someone’s grubby hand, or *shudder*, being hugged by a complete stranger - absolutely not!

    I can relate

A drunken ex-colleague had his watch stolen on a night out by a reprobate in the street during an uninvited handshake. He started talking really quickly and kicking my friends shins to distract him whilst he unbuckled his watch. One of many reasons I don't let strangers touch me

    So…
The guy let someone shake his hand and kick his shins and steal his watch?
Not sure he should be out on his own to be honest.

I’ve seen Hollywood films of illusionists and distraction thefts,
But I’m pretty sure I’d know if someone was trying to slip a Rolex off my wrist.
It’s snug enough for me to do let alone someone do it without my noticing.

This happened to me when I was living in Prague, coming back from the pub two pretend 'ladies of the night' appeared - hands everywhere - to go for the wallet and the watch. Although a bit drunk I was aware of what they were up to and shouted at them really loudly (in Czech, although they weren't Czech) they seemed quite surprised / shocked and ran off. No wallet or watch lost that night..
