why do PRS29-AM and PRS29-A have the same caseback and NATO numbers?

Hello. First post here. I tried looking up the answer but couldn't find it. If it's already answered, appreciate a link to it if there's one. Why do both watches have the same numbers?
    Thank you

I am just guessing here but it is essentially the same watch with a different dial and hands.
