Ha ha, now there is a lovely little ground!

This place is for kickball although they are having a Rugby League World Cup Game there this year

This picture was taken under the roof.

Surely this picture tells you where I am and then you can find the earlier location - the city unabated, as it were.

    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

Ding dong. An absolutely superb cookery class and a lovely little corner. Recommended for anyone in Amman.

And of course, it’s the Citadel.

Thank you, I'll stop searching for cookery classes on Greek islands.

Still struggling with this one though.

Looks like a derelict monastery. ~1600km from St Andrews, so possibly France/Germany/maybe Switzerland…

Kloster Walkenried Abbey? Just a wild guess though

Very good! It's the derelict church at Walkenried abbey in the German Harz. The monastery itself is still intact and now a small museum that's well worth a visit.

It was just a guess, doesn’t really count for ‘knowledge’ on my end.

Do you recall what caused the abbey being abandoned? Reformation/Lutheranism like in the UK?

According to the museum it was destroyed/abandoned in the German Peasant War, sometime in the 16th century. I'm afraid it's a war I hadn't heard of before my visit to the abbey but it appears to have been an uprising of the working class.
