    Bien jugado.

And Iglesia de San Pedro in the second image, both taken from Plaza San Pedro.

Already identified but the Pont du Gard and the area around Nimes is one of my favourite places to visit. I was fortunate enough to regularly fly into Nimes in the 90s, back when you could walk across the aqueduct. Stunning picture.

Not far from where McNish ended up?

  12. #112
Le Mans it is, IIRC it was about an hour before the start in 2016. McNish had his big smash in '11, I was in the same spot or maybe slightly further up and closer to the incident - it was a wonder no-one was killed and I don't mean the drivers!

That was my position, showered with carbon fibre and pebbles! The Danes cheered when it came through that it was McNish and not Kristensen.

Are Mr Carlton-Browne's post a joke or is the fact I see no images an issue on my side?

That was a horrific crash, but entirely McNish's fault and totally unnecessary - Say what you like, though, that car (and the one that was crashed 'off camera' later at night if I remember rightly) was built mighty strong - A couple of years earlier and that would have probably been fatal.

I'm never able to see C-B's pictures, even in the Friday thread, unless I turn off Ghostery.

Can't see C-B's pics embedded in the posts, either -- but using 'reply with quote' shows working direct links.

Can't see the pictures either, and the links don't even appear until you quote the post either - they just look blank. This is on a computer using a normal web browser (Chrome).

CB - you might want to consider using a different image host as evidently TZUK is a bit temperamental with your current one

I can follow the link and see the image, yes, but nothing embedded as an image in the forum, either your posts or quoted.

Very odd, but obviously not unique to me!

ETA I can see them in Tapatalk, but not in Chrome.

If you watch the YT clips of the incident you'd think it a miracle that the marshals, members of the media and even the fans behind the fencing weren't seriously hurt or worse - I think I'd rather have been in the car! Testament to the safety cell that McNish was just battered and bruised, true.

The first time I went to Le Mans was in 1982 or 83, the safety walls were still waist high and no fencing. I'll try to dig out some photos and scan them.
