Externalists like Andy Clark would argue, persuasively, that a wristwatch is explicitly part of your extended mind. A metacortex dedicated to knowing where we are in time. As such, it has an obvious effect on how you will place yourself in time.

It makes you instantly attractive to others and brings serenity into your life, obviously.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

I don't pretend to know about the psychology of it ,but i just absolutely hate being without a watch on my wrist.
From an old Pulsar i use for work ,to an Omega for "best " just doesn't feel right being watch naked .

It doesn't change my personality. It just makes me feel good wearing a nice watch. I don't even want or expect people to notice it. I wear it for me.

Tonight I am the Wolf of Wall Street, tomorrow I will be Buzz Aldrin. On Saturday I may be James Bond or Paul Newman, I haven't decided yet. (Actually, not Paul Newman. I really couldn't afford one)

Rumbled. I wish I had more character. Back to being a keyboard fantasist, hey ho!

Obviously - some people become ''desk divers, desk pilots or desk IT geeks'', for eight hours or so.

It has to be admitted that this forum has a large sector of members who are very nasty to each other, trade insults galore , gang up on those who do not conform to the ethos of the forum and will spend hours arguing over a sheet of toilet paper.

The common denominator is that they wear watches. It does make you wonder.
