    Champions League Final 2021

I'm looking forward to the game tonight with a few beers. Anyone in Portugal and going to the game?

    Predictions or thoughts?

    I've had a flutter on 3-0 City.

  2. #2
It’ll either be a dreadful game where neither side give anything away and it’ll go to pens and Chelsea could take it.

Or City will come out the blocks on fire and give Chelsea a 4/5 goal thumping.

Or I could be completely wrong, so won’t be putting any money on it.

I agree, all of those are possible outcomes. I only had a daft fiver on it at 17s.

I reckon both sides will score and the Chelsea keeper is definitely beatable. Not sure who’ll win though.

  6. #6
If Man City are to win they will need to score first or at least ensure Chelsea are not leading by more than 1 goal. Chelsea lack firepower, so will probably play a defensive set up to stifle Man City, much like Villareal did to Man U and then rely on set pieces/breakaway's to score.

I'm hoping both teams go for it, end to end stuff with loads of action.

I expect we'll get a boring tight game with the odd goal nicking it or a penalty decider...

I hope city win because they deserve it. Yes they spent some money but they play football properly and the reason England have half a shout at the Euros is in part at least down to Pep and his development of some key players, their mentality and how that rubs off on the rest of the squad.

1-0 Chelsea in a dreary affair with few chances is my prediction.

    Very excited. 3-1 City.

What club has the most money. I pick that one to win because that is how football works most of the time.

I remember when City was that other team who arnt very good, back before money changed that.

    0-0 as I type. I'll take a guess at Chelsea winning 1-0.

What a cheat Ngolo Kante is. It is obvious he has invented a teleportation device enabling him to be in multiple areas of the pitch at the same time.

It was Craig Shakespeare who came up with the Kante twins thing…. Only had one season of watching him and it took the media a few months to cotton to something City fans worked out after a couple of games…

But, why did he go to Chelsea???? Agh !!!!

City have lost their heads here. Chelsea need to keep their foot on their necks.

Edit Fernandinho on. Should have been on from the start

Imagine what it's like being a Newcastle fan!

Best team won tonight. Can't believe City didn't turn up.

What a woeful performance by City tonight. Well played Chelsea, far better team on the night. Fully deserved winners.
Was saying to my missus that you should never mind losing if you’ve played well and just got beat by the better team but there’ll be many City players walking in who were well below their best.

Never really understood the 'no history' argument.

All clubs start with no history. A young supporter wants to see success now, not hear his Grandad reminiscing about the past.

Yeah that one always makes me smile when said about our two clubs, mainly by folk who's memory doesn't go back further than the 80's.
I don't know any Chelsea fans who dislike City, going back to the Full Members final, two 5h!t teams having to invent a competition to have any chance of winning anything. Both sets of fans having a great day out 5-1 up with a few minutes to go and City scoring 3 goals in injury time aged me 20yrs in 5mins!

Don't feel bad losing City, without trying to sound condescending, it's your first Champions League final and when you finally win the thing which you definitely will it'll make it all the sweeter. Take it from me.

One of the best, I agree with. But you said probably the best, which I disagree with.

Very effective at what he does, probably the best in the world in that role, but let’s not get carried away here. I’ll go out on a limb too and say people won’t be talking about Kante in 10 years time.

Agreed Vic. Had a fantastic day out in Porto but omg it was a bloody long day. I’m now waiting for the train home from Gatwick!

It was generally good natured what I saw pre and post match. No gloating from our side and lots of magnanimous congratulations from City fans. Went up in my estimations .

And seeing as this is a watch forum here’s a quick shot with a nice bit of rubber from a plastic club

There’s only two clubs who really go on about it Vic .
I’m sure it wouldn’t be difficult to guess which .
European Royalty ? Yeah , the Prince Andrew of football .

Had a great day down by the river with Chelsea and City fans alike . As you said , beyond the expected few, there’s very little animosity between the clubs . That Full Members Cup Final still makes me smile . I think we’d both played the day before too ? We certainly played United on the Saturday and jumped straight on a coach to London . David Speedie still gives me nightmares .

Enjoy your win mate , through my “salty tears” I recognise that you were better than us and outthought Fraudiola .

Chelsea played very well, good final watching 2 teams going toe to toe. Good to see the real emotion from the Chelsea players.

“I don’t give a **** we just won the champions league”

Going to be quote of the season that one

What were the odds tonight? I thought city's name was already on the cup to be honest.
