Maybe the ultimate vintage Rolex combo....

    This arrived this afternoon....

    A genuine Rolex 97200 bracelet...

    When added to this:

Is for me the perfect combo of vintage matte dial, wearable in water, and modern adjustable bracelet.
Would be interested to get peoples thoughts!

Agreed. The newer glidelock bracelet fits like a charm on the 5 digits and dare I say it.. makes it the perfect tool Rolex!

    Enjoy the 'new' watch sir!

Interesting, You and I exchanged a couple of the 97200’s a couple of years ago and I fitted it to my 16710 and it made it very unbalanced at the bottom. Wonderfully comfortable but didn’t look “right” on the slimmer case.

Looks great and well balanced on the 16600 though 👍🏻

(Edited as I didn’t see it Mike who made the OP 😂)

Have to agree, that it makes for a perfect combination.
Love the patina of the dial and hands.

It is definitely perfect. And the new clasp is superior, technically speaking.

However I happen to like the old flimsy clasp myself. It "belongs" to the old watches.

Either way, I love my 16600 too. Cheers!

I tried something similar a few years ago. It felt a little ‘odd’.

What I have got is a brushed easy-link to go in the standard 16600 bracelet - keep forgetting to make the time!

Each to their own, but I prefer the older bracelets with the smaller clasps. Light and comfortable.

Bit torn about this one tbh.
I think that vintage heads belong on correctly coded bracelets, even if theyre service replacements.
This is a vintage modern hybrid, and as such doesn't sit well with me even though it looks fine and is probably more versatile clasp-wise.

I tend to agree C, I did similar with a GMT a few years ago and ended up changing to a correct period bracelet.

For wearability of a vintage 16660 that’s the way I’d go. Keep the original bracelet in the box and it’s winner winner.

I've been quite tempted to try this with a Ginault bracelet on my 16600 to see if I like it before seeking out a 97200.

It's a definite yes from me.

I tried that option when I had both - not for me - the tinny original works best.

A definite no from me. There’s a charm about the older bracelets. New or vintage not hybrid sorry.
