    Incoming new arrival.

Originally my Great Grandfather’s, this was passed down to me by my Father today.
My Dad’s Dad’s Dad was a Station Master and my Dad believes it to be Gold.
He also thought it didn’t work, so I wound it, give it a tap and away it went !
My Dad’s not a Watch guy and his Dad wasn’t either.
I’m not interested in the value of this (unless I’m hugely mistaken and need to tell my insurer !) as it will be passed on to my Son, but I would appreciate any other information.
It doesn’t look like Gold to me and I’m not even sure if it looks as old as it should be ? It ticks away nicely though and has Blue-ed hands.
    Thanks in advance TZers. IMG_1596.JPGIMG_1598.JPG

Sounds like this has a great story behind it, but those images appear to be tiny thumbnails so can't really see it.

You can upload to a image sharing site and post the link here to full size images, I use imgur.com if that helps (it's free of course).

    Incoming new arrival.

I appear to have the same pocket watch. This one was owned by my great grandfather. This was just after I’d got it serviced and the watchmaker replaced the original, worn winding crown with this one. I got him to put the old one back.

That is a fab picture, the X Ray is notoriously difficult to photograph. Congrats.

Apologies. I posted on the wrong thread.
