    Tudor event on May 25th

Tudor are posting on social media about *some exciting news* being put out at 1pm CEST on May 25th.

    What are you hoping for?

    Is it the Marine Nationale?

Looks like a Batman edition from the insta vid though!

Gives very little information. Just a short clip showing smoke blowing in and forming a Tudor shield logo.

I’ve (almost) given up trying to guess. What looked like a Tudor sub ended up being the P01. I had really hoped for the BB58 movement in smaller rangers / pelagos but that was met with a solid gold black bay.

Let’s not forget the last tease with the black and red colour mix picture that I thought would be a coke GMT!

Given that they only just released a whole load of watches at Watches and wonders, this will probably be the MN collaboration

I would love, love, love a Pelagos 58 but I have learnt not to hold my breath after the last announcement.

I imagine it will be something unnecessary/unwanted like they've decided to stop using ETA movements on the Royal and BB32/36/41 lines but to soften the blow of more expensive in-house only services they will increase the retail price too.

Smaller Pelagos would be great. I’m really considering getting a pelagos so will be interested to see what is announced

Not sure I see a Batman - but I’m curious about the words on the insta story “remember you guys crashed” - that suggests a collision / which ties in with the colliding smoke, but could also be interpreted as a fusion so maybe a fusion of two watches.

I think there’s a huge opportunity for Tudor to annoy the hell out of everyone. Hope they don’t.

I would hazard a guess that whatever it is, it will be a disappointment and not particularly exciting.

A smaller blue Pelagos would be a winner for me.

Given the last black/red GMT tease that turned out to be nothing of the sort, who knows. Could just as well launching be a new advert featuring Lady Gaga. I’m preparing myself to be underwhelmed

Agreed between the black/red tease and the P01 hour marker tease I don't think its worth reading anything into their social media efforts.

Something blue would seem likely given Marine Nationale’s other watch collaboration, with Yema, generated a blue dial watch.

Yep, that would certainly raise an eyebrow here too.

Just seen this on their Instagram, I reckon the MN collaboration is the most likely.

Interestingly, I recently discovered they quietly stopped using ETA movements in those ranges a little while ago, and moved to Sellita movements.

If I’m not mistaken, at this time new shipment of ETA’s are only being delivered to brands inside the Swatch group.
This is the reason a lot of brands are launching their own in-house movement or go with Sellita.

My guess is something MN. They have used that "smoke coalescing into the shield" vidclip before, so I do not believe you can read anything into it. It all seems a little hurried, so the MN would make sense as Yema announced with their line of watches ready to go

There is the MN tie-up that was recently announced but given the image of black smoke forming into the Tudor shield, perhaps this is a nod to the Black Shield models?

I would guess your sources are correct, it seems they have changed the descriptions of the movements.
They now read 'Movement: Self-winding mechanical movement, Calibre T600'

Personally I don't mind an off the shelf movement, they are cost effective, a proven design and easily serviceable.
What I find really disingenuous is making up a silly calibre number to disguise the fact.

I have a great affinity for Tudor but they seem hellbent on slowly chipping away at it.
I wonder if my BB58 will be the last....

A watch that can work correctly and a warranty repair time much less than 4 months would be a good start...

I am waiting on this to see what it is. I am about to pull the trigger on the BB58 blue on a bracelet tommorow afternoon unless this is something special. It is my 40th in 2 weeks i will put a deposit down and wait if it is a special piece but i doubt it.

Love the old Tudor subs but no way I’m paying £10k for a blue snowflake from the 70s.

I was in a similar position to you a couple of weeks ago...was just about to get a BB58 blue to scratch the itch, when I heard about the new MN collaboration and the announcement tomorrow.

Decided to try and invoke Sod’s law, so got the BB58 a few days ago! Hopefully it turns out I took one for the team.

Very happy with it...perfect size for me (6.75in) and has a nice blend of slightly vintage vibe with very crisp modern looks. I took it off the bracelet after about 24 hours and it’s now on an Erikas Originals and it looks and wears great.

If they announce something closer to the old subs tomorrow, or in the future, I figure it’ll take ages to get one anyway. Will put my name down and wait in line, whilst enjoying the BB58...I figure if I end up trading it in for the new one I won’t take a huge hit.

If it’s NOT a sub I know I’m going to be annoyed about the perpetual trolling by Tudor, and it could mark the end of my passion for the brand. Solid gold PO1 anyone?

You already know it’s not a sub - hold tight for a Tudor branded MN strap that’s even more expensive than an Erikas

I commented on the TalkingTudor insta that what I am expecting today is disappointment.
That it will not be an MN sub, or even proper square indices on a BB58
    Nor a smaller Pelagos
    or a Pelagos GMT
Or anything else that we dream about from the Tudor icons of the past.

It will be something trivial, or another "missed opportunity" watch.

That way I can be sure not to feel let down when I end up disappointed.

Are ADs likely to have the mystery piece in the safes ready to sell? If not it’s going to add even more angst to those waiting for something special.

Check out Emil's now sold BB58 on SC. Cute note on the coffin. They'll probably have them.

They'd be mad to kill the Black Bay and Pelagos by releasing a Sub. Hope they do though..

My guess is either a slight tweak to the original BB58 or just some new straps, that's what their insta suggests.

Just that they had the BB58 Blue model in stock at the stores with the release/not to be sold before date on the coffin and a note to say no pictures etc.

No reason why this wouldn't be the same if sold through the AD network.

As in they had the blue 58 before the release date last year, like the one on the SC, so it's likely to be the case for this potential release this year

We don't have samples so we're awaiting it with as much interest as everyone.

My thought is that it could be a black divers watch along the lines of the Fastrider?

    We'll all know at midday.

I visited AD and was shown the All Blacks PVD Tudor Chrono day before release, the coffin had date of release and to not be sold before day of release.

Yup. Disappointment. This year's third pointless material for the BB.
