Bit of a strange question this but I have an old Orient Mako (One of the original ones) The mineral glass is pretty scratched up and I would like to have it replaced with sapphire crystal if possible and give the watch a bit of a service. I know its an inexpensive watch but its something I would like to get done. Is there any issues with getting the glass replaced and are there any recommendations to get the work done?
No idea regarding servicing for orient watches, but for the crystal issue, I did a swap myself with a replacement sapphire crystal which I think came from dagaz watches.
If you have a look at either:
- dagaz watches
- dlw watches
- yobokies
You will find plenty of options of shapes and types of crystal for the mako/ray that you can then ask someone to fit for you
