FA Cup Final, thank you Leicester...

I'm not a Leicester fan (Middlesbrough's my team) but I just want to say thank you Leicester...

A: For my winning bet of 3/1.

B: For restoring my faith in football with fans back in the stadium and seeing a team actually want to win (imo) the greatest cup in football (after the World Cup of course lol).

p.s I have to say I still don't like VAR and it's a joke to see a goal ruled out by mm's but...

Werner and Havertz will be different animals next year. Adapting to the PL is really really difficult.
There’s not much to change at your club. I’m expecting a really tough game in Porto and taking nothing for granted.
You were a brilliant save and .5 mm away from taking that to extra time or even winning it .
Leicester will be fighting it out at the very top again next season.

Werner is a quality player but not a striker. His 29 goals in his last season Germany suggested he is but he's not. With a top striker up front at Chelsea you'd see the best of Werner.

Mate it must feel crap at the moment and I think most must feel like you. It does look that way but anything could happen in the CL final. Also I can't see Liverpool winning the rest of their games. To get to these finals is awesome in itself.

If VAR was used for Leicester goal would it of stood with that handball?

The greatest cup competition in the world bar none.
A lacklustre first half, one of the best goals ever seen at Wembley followed up by a stunning save , then the VAR decision.
It was breathless watching for me as a neutral ( although I did have monetary interest in Leicester )
Wolfie s next few posts are going to be fun .

As a Wigan Athletic fan I was hoping Leicester would win.

8 years ago I thought staying in the Prem was more important than the FA cup - but I was wrong. I don't miss the Prem, and they can't take the cup away from us!

Felt sorry for Reece James, had a decent game and was immense on loan for us.

Still hate VAR - sooner it is scrapped the better for me!

It wasn't as close as that, you could see it was offside from the initial BBC freeze frame.

Well done Leicester....great to see it matters

I disagree. If you have to draw the lines on the screen he should be onside. There's no way that linesperson made a clear and obvious error. For me it was onside all day. Advantage should be with the forward.

The initial BBC freeze frame didn't have lines and I could see it was off side

So the BBC camera was dead in line with Ben Chilwell then??

Absolutely delighted for Leicester, the club, the fans, everyone. It was great to see the owner come on and lift the cup. You don't see that when Liverpool or United win something. A great result for football.

Although my Dad was a true Blue Evertonian he was just as much a true football fan and unfortunately he died during the 2015/16 season when Leicester won the PL and I remember saying that he would have loved that outcome and I think he would have enjoyed today just as much.

Funny how second teams go, over the last year or two I have enjoyed watching Wolves, but this season I have been split between Leicester and Leeds.

I think Leicester have a few aging players which will need replacing such as Wes Morgan, but Vardy is still too good to be just a squad player. They need to buy a couple of top players and push on.

Delighted for everyone connected with Leicester.

The Cup I always wanted us to win and thought we’d sometime have a chance. Never thought we’d win the League at any point so that was an amazing bonus. I’d rather have won this than get the top 4 tbh. But now there’s no harm in being greedy lol

Yup congratulations City, the result wasn't what we wanted but by far the best thing was meeting up and having a beer with some of my best mates who I've not seen since February last year.
I'd take that over an FA Cup any day.
See you again for the rematch on Tuesday!

Congratulations to Leicester. Fine margins but enough to make the difference. On a different day it goes the other way, which is why we love football.

Whilst it hurts to lose any final this one is not so bad. Great for Jamie Vardy, not many players will be able to say they have played in every round from the preliminaries all the way to the final. Some story for his grandkids.

Looking forward to the rematch in the week, hopefully you’ll still be nursing hangovers. KTBFFH!!

Well, despite having a poor view at the new Wembley for the first time and therefore not being able to see the flow of the game (we were 4 rows from the front behind the goal where we 'scored' the offside goal at the end), it was great to be back at footie again and to have a few beers with mates. Starting the pre-match planning for Tuesday now and awaiting the ticket news for Porto in the hope they follow through on the change of decision regarding fans being able to travel independently.

    Congratulations to Leicester. Great goal!

Worthy of winning any final. Nearly as good as Super Frank vs Everton in 2009 ;)

Thank you - I honestly thought we’d get trounced…. I am now significantly less bothered about Tuesday (you’ll be out for revenge)…. Enjoy Porto!

Was this you and your mates? (I’m so sorry!)
