My missus recently put a new debit card on her Apple pay on Apple iphone.

She didn't use it but did use one her existing cards on Apple pay. However the debit was made against the new card. I know this was the case as I saw her carry out the transaction.

We only realised when she got a notification from the new card bank.

Anyone come across this odd behaviour on Apple pay a(i.e. debiting incorrect card) and how does she sort it out.

Yes, she does pick the card she wants to use (she has a few) but didn't know about default card. Doesn't explain why it used card that wasn't selected though.

I have 3 cards registered on Apple Pay. It’s never gone wrong but I have occasionally selected the wrong card. Easily done especially as all the cards from my bank look almost identical.

I’ve never had it go wrong either but it’s an easy mistake to make to pick the wrong card, especially if they look similar.

This. I'd bet my entire collection on user error but tell my wife "that's weird" and leave it at that.
