It's noticeable that Dava Sobel's book does not make the suggested reading list...and that there are a couple of interesting 'Related Links'.
So did I. However, I gather that, while it's a good read, the author's telling of the story does not match up with some of what historical research has established. Rather than being a 'lone genius' it would seem that he had some help, see this link to an older thread . That, IMO, does nothing to detract from the amazing story of his progress from woodwork to making H4.
