Thread: How do steel and gold bracelets work?

How do steel and gold bracelets work?

A simple question, asked by a simple man...

How do you link steel and gold in the same bracelet without there being uneven wear/the steel eroding the softer gold?

    Probably a very obvious answer

I don’t think there is direct contact - the pins connecting the two are (I guess) steel.

It was the pins I meant (should have been clearer!)

If they’re steel, then how do they not wear the central, gold link - given steel’s greater hardness?

They clearly work, just wonder how

    Lovely CHNR btw

There are steel sleeves inside the central links.

Most steel bracelets have the steel sleeves too.
