    TV advert gobbledegook

Whilst temporarily slumped in front of my tv, I find myself listening to some right royal claptrap.

Why does Fever Tree go to the ends of the earth to find Mexican Orange Oil? Why don't they just go to Mexico?

Don't let it get to you. Don't look for logic. Listen to the words of the late, great Bill Hicks:

Of course it's ironically preceded by an advert

I've managed to cut ads out of my life fairly well.

Only YouTube makes me watch them and I'm tempted to find a way to avoid those too.

Fever Tree is rather good. Suggest you increase the gin ratio then chances are you'll tolerate more ads without concern.

Anti-wrinkle creams are the ads that really get me. I'm sure it's also only a matter of time before someone labels a pack of lard as "sugar free".

Disclaimer: currently, no ad blocker is technologically capable of blocking ads in the native YouTube App on mobile devices.

You'll need youtube vanced for that.

Has anyone bought the £39.99 telescope which is allegedly 'taking the world by storm' ? ... Reviews are interesting ie show it's total rubbish ... and claims about its eg advanced technology are all lies
"Well they would say that ... wouldn't they!"

I love the ‘54% of women who expressed a preference said they liked our product’ (presumably after they were given a big tub for free)! - is that any kind of recommendation?!?! - along with the ‘contains (insert made up pseudo scientific word here) which you’ve never heard of ‘ but will now pay a fortune for because a pretty lady with impossibly perfect digitised skin (or a 13 year old model with a 13 year olds skin) - honest you might be nearly 50 but this jar of cream containing poly peptide aerobic nano jism will make you look like her etc etc….

The best adverts are the ones that state

    81% of people agree

    *63 people surveyed

I can find 81% of 63 people to
Tell me the moon is made of Swiss cheese if I interview the correct people

Cleaners that remove "up to 100%" of germs.
Dandruff shampoos that "can leave you up to 100% flake free".

Its just a load of meaningless words! Washing your car with rocks will remove "up to" 100% of the dirt. Probably between 1% and 2% of it.

Always reminds me of the Todd Snider song Statisticians blues when I read all that nonsense on ads.
