    CWC 2012/13 RN AUTO MK1?

I have recently purchased a MK 1 Quartz QM60 which I really like. I am now being drawn to the Automatic version. I'll maybe hang out for a second hand one but I see CWC have some 2012/13 RN Autos on their site. The blurb suggests that they have been serviced with new a dial and new seals.

I seem to recall that someone had mentioned (I think it was @Sinnlover who has/had one?) the original 2012 models had a poor lume so the refurb of these models may have solved that issue.

Has anyone purchased one of these and can comment?

The other question I have is that CWC suggest that this model has a deeper profile than the Quartz model to accommodate the ETA 2824 movement. One of the features that appeals to me with the Quartz QM60 is, that for a diver, it is quite slim and wears well compared to most big, chunky divers. Anyone had both quartz and automatic versions to compare?
    Thanks

The lume on these is awful, the worst on any luminova watch I have owned.
My 08 Tritium dialled SBS has better lume
I would ask Silvermans / CWC directly if they have upgraded the dial.

Edit just checked their website and the lume picture is different to the one they used to use that showed the poor lume
I am guessing they have redialled them.
If so it would be worth a punt.

Thanks - I thought it was you! Are you able to comment on the thickness of the watch (Quartz v Auto)? I see the CWC website is scant on details (as usual!)

    The difference is minimal
    It’s 1mm

The SBS quartz is 11.5 MM thick
    2012 auto 12.5
    And 80 reissue 12.6

Perfect - nothing in it! Thanks

Was it just the RN auto’s that suffered with poor lume? I had a 2013 SBS and was always disappointed with the lume compared to other watches I had. I’ve got a 2018 RN diver now and the lume on it is really good.

To be honest I always thought the 2013 quartz had good lume, they have improved it in the more recent versions.

I have a 2019 SBS and the lume is great, but I have no basis for comparison.

It wasn’t horrendous, it just wasn’t very bright compared to a Seiko and would fade fairly fast.
As I said, no such issues with my 2018 RN diver.
