Any IWC pilot watch fans here?

I'm interested in the Top Gun Chronograph for my next watch. I've never owned a ceramic watch, am looking for a new chronograph, and love the pilot watch aesthetic.

Just wondered if anyone here owns one, and what their thoughts are?

    Cheers!

I’d sooner go for a 3706, save myself a bundle of cash and end up with a better watch. My favourite IWC watches are long discontinued.

I was looking at the 3705, but the price of originals seems to be the same as the recently released "Tribute to", so around £11K.

To be honest, I think I prefer the leaf style hands compared to the cutoff hands on the 3705/3706.

That’s what I’d be doing too, great watch the 3706 and approved by Watch Snob too

Sure I remember seeing a photo of a ceramic IWC that had been dropped and a big chunk missing out of the case, not pretty and not cheap to rectify I’d guess.

I think it's a nice watch but prefer the original 3705. In terms of the new IWC pilot chronographs, if you are not dead set on ceramic, I'm told by those who have seen it that the new green dialed steel model 41mm is very nice indeed, so might be worth checking out before committing.

I guess that's why IWC are moving their pilots watches over to Ceratanium.

Yeah, the new 41mm watches (green and blue dials) are very nice, but I think I'm really set on something ceramic or ceratanium. I've got a few steel chronographs already.

One of my favourite watches of all time! I love these.....and they are so under rated.....
Rather large of my puny wrists though....

I will own one, one day.

I bought one in Jan 2020. It’s my favourite go to watch as it’s very comfy on the canvas a d deploy any combo.

Whilst it’s got great wrist presence but is also super subtle as it’s the antithesis of a steel sports watch.

It’s a large watch but in ceramic it’s very light.

Only niggle is a relatively noisy movement.

I love it and it was the first to survive my 5 to 2 watch cull along with my Speedy.

Dare to be different and buy what YOU like.

Thanks for the photos and info watchmad! Much appreciated!

I guess the movement noise is coming from the rotor?

    I liked the old version

Pricing in recent years has made IWC in general seem poor VFM to me.

+1 for the old version, the new 41mm is a step in the right direction. Be nice when they do it in this colour scheme.
