Help with identifying an old(?) / cheap dive watch

After having a bit of a clear out I found a watch and I've no idea of the make or age, its time keeping is poor but I like its classic dive looks.

I cant quite work out the make - Pilot? Sorry I know the picture is poor.

I wondered whether it was worth getting it serviced as I am quite find of it. Is it a cheap Russian watch?

I don't know about Russian, but it looks like on of hundreds of 'skin-diver' style watches of the 60s and 70s, generic off the shelf cases and dials and hands and movements and then branded by a 'maker' or retailer, most of these small brands didn't survive the quartz revolution. Looks nice, I have a few that look similar.

What's on the back , swiss made on the dial ? Plated or Steel ?


As Jason said old skin diver , plongee could be a French branded diver loads of them with obscure makers.

Is it not marked T SWISS MADE T on the bottom of the dial?

My guess is Benrus. They were one of several makers to register Pilot as a brand name. There are similarities with this Benrus diver; hands, bezel, case.
