Apologies if these aren’t new releases and have been posted before....

Different viewpoints of value I’d guess. At 9k wow there’s a huge amount out there . I suppose vintage UG tri-compax are knocking around 12-15k but that’d be my choice if I had a wad of cash for non Rolex.
Speedmaster moonphase is cheaper new and cheaper still second hand
Just have a feeling this Breitling will be knocking around 5k on the secondary market in a few years . May well be wrong of course
I agree that this is a lovely watch. It didn't get a lot of attention initially at Watches and Wonders, and was even overshadowed a bit by Breitling's mint green novelty, but in retrospective reviews of the show this watch has been mentioned as one of the stars of the show. Salmon dials do need to be seen in the flesh though as they can be hit and miss. I think the price is pretty decent.
It’s not all about residuals, I think if a looker.
spud - I actually like that one a lot!
“ Ford... you're turning into a penguin. Stop it.” HHGTTG
Your point is of course correct and my mystic Meg prediction might be entirely wrong. My only point is a £2k watch dropping to £1k is a hit I might be prepared to take. Breitling do take a pounding so I’d be nervous of buying top end Breitling new without significant discount

I agree and I have been looking at this watch as well. Forget retail on Breitling, I wonder what discounts can be had on these after a few months in circulation?

It's a handsome piece and likely to be bought by those who appreciate the name and style rather than what its residuals might be in a few years.
Given the current upward trajectory of Breitling, I think their residuals will improve. Their watch designs have more mass market appeal nowadays and they have some lovely vintage designs which it sounds like we'll be seeing in the future as well. Their movements are well regarded too. I liked the Navitimer 1959 re-issue for example but thought it's value might fall quickly on the second hand market, however it seems to have held up quite well.
Breitling don't normally do much for me, save for the odd Superocean Heritage or Navitimer but I have to admit that's a handsome looking thing. I've no idea why Rolex got dragged into this discussion.
Breitling have brought out some really nice stuff recently.

I don't really go for chronographs - but I like it.
I don't really go for moon-phase - but I like it.
£9k is a hunk of money, but these days a not so special Seiko starts at £1k.
Reminiscent of the Sinn copper dial chrono but with added class, the red gold version is ...

'Populism, the last refuge of a Tory scoundrel'.
Would like to see one in the flesh - the 42mm width wouldn’t be an issue for me but 15mm height could make it a bit chunky

Looks stunning can’t wait to see that copper dial in the flesh.

That's a good looking watch. Not sure about the dial color though.
What dial color options there are?
