How best to price my watches FS on Sales Corner?

I've tried looking at Ebay completed listings, Chrono 24 and Watchfinder but still having trouble coming up with a reasonable figure to offer up my watches on SC.

I hope it's within the rules to post here, I will not accept offers from this thread, the watches will go into SC once I can price them correctly, with your help please. I'm happy selling high value stuff on Ebay but prefer to do business here. Two of the three were bought from TZers on SC but this was some time ago.

All watches working and in good condition but hardly ever get worn so an imminent house move means they need to find a new home. Any suggestions gratefully accepted.

To repeat, the watches are not being offered for sale in this section, they will be listed on SC with donation under normal terms and access to members under standard SC terms only.

    Zenith El Primero Flyback

Bought from Rod of this parish a couple of years ago and worn less than half a dozen times!

I fear you may get some pelters for asking the question
Chrono 24 I believe charges 6% commission fee. if you were to price 10% below the lowest uk based on Chrono 24 for each model you’d probably be in the reasonable bargain territory with a chance of selling quicker through here than Chrono 24. Obviously if all the bargains are from abroad on Chrono 24 then remember to add back on a percentage for the importation costs that the buyer would have to pay.

Just spotted you’ve bought off people from this site and re-selling. In this instance speak to original buyer first if you are intending to sell for higher ( that to me is a fair thing to do )

Or go off what you paid here, factor in wear and tear so take off the price of a service, price of a refurb if more scratches than when you had it, then crack on

Price at what you want for them - higher / lower to what you paid: it’s your watch. The market (buyers) will determine if they will sell.

You could look back at SC for similar watches if you want guidance.

Sound advice so far, unless it’s something very popular you do need to be a bit patient as It’s a lot smaller
market than EBay and sometimes there just isn’t someone looking to buy what your selling at the time
so it’s not always because you’ve priced it too high that it doesn’t sell.

If I’m really looking to sell something usually give it 2/3 weeks on here before looking at other options
and always list it a bit lower than I think I would on eBay (that’s taking into account fees as well)

Thanks for the tips, just working out where they sit price wise. The Seamaster was bought from a forumite but via a WTB response, not an SC listing.

I can price used cars, hifi etc but since I couldn't even remember what I paid for these (until I found the SC listing for the Zenith), I didn't want to wade in too optimistic price wise on SC else it would look amateur and/or greedy.

Will do my homework and get them on SC in the next week or so. Pelters? Hope not, in my world there is no such thing as a stupid question!

Those vintage Omega look rather nice. When you do list them make sure you include the first part of the serial number 18,5xx,xxx or the year if you happen to know it. That could make Watch appealing to someone looking for a birth year Watch. I'm guessing that Pie Pan is around 67/68 based on the engraving which unfortunately is too late for me, I'm on the look out for a 1961. But it does show you, people are looking for something specific, so you might just get lucky.

Sound advice. There should be plenty of reference material.
