Promised my best mates lad that I'd buy him something if he managed a task I gave him in lockdown, true to his word he knuckled down and did it - he's only 11 mind, pretty impressed to be honest.
Anyway he's asked for a fitbit or Fitbit type watch, so I said no worries, however I don't know anything about them at all.
What I do know is, he's 11, it doesn't have to be the Fitbit brand, he doesn't have a phone.
On top of that his little brother guilt tripped me into getting him one too, so in for a penny in for a pound. He's 8, no phone either.
So any ideas guys? Can I get both for under £100 or am I way off?

Got my daughter one of these for her birthday last year, she likes it. Wife liked it too, so she got one at Xmas and has since bought her dad and step mum one.

Seventy odd quid each from memory. No complaints.

I considered those when I was looking and reading some reviews and talking to my daughter decided they were a bit too young, designed for 6-7 year olds, not sure they'd be what an 11yr old would want. I bought one of these each for my kids, they've had it now for 4 months, and love it. Wear it daily and it gives them the info they need.
Also helps to keep track of levels and can even notify mobile phone calls and SMS messages (if you turn it on).

Personally I’ve had a couple of fit bits and had skin irritations from both, not had that pro with garmin.

My 9 year old loves his mi band 4. His brother at 5 loves his fit bit ace 2
The mi band 4 or 5 is probably better for those ages
A pack of 15 different coloured straps is only £16 or so too
Both watches sync to a tablet periodically but no phones
Another vote for a Miband perfect for kids at a disposal price point
I have a Xiaomi mi band. Current one is band 6 and is approx £35.
The battery lasts approx 4 weeks and the watch head is removed from the strap and charged via the supplied USB charger.
The strap is a push fit type.
For my mom, I purchased a Lintelek which is of Apple style watch with a normal strap buckle.
The watch is charged by connecting supplied USB charger to the watch case back. Approx £35 from Amazon.
Both need connecting to an app to set time, watch display etc and can then be disconnected until clocks go forward/back or if watch battery discharges completely. Battery lasts 3-4 weeks.
Both are light and comfortable.
I have also seen on Hot UK Deals for Amazfit watch, Apple style from Amazon at £45.
The above model is Amazfit Bip, currently £49 on Amazon.
XiaMi's are popular over here, best if linked to a phone, cheap enough to buy one for each of the kids.

My son is 7 years old and happily wears my mi band, although a tad loose.
As this is connected to my phone, which is connected to my car radio, he is happy as he can skip through his playlist without asking whilst I'm driving.
I’d avoid the Garmin Vivofir Jr 2. My two kids, now 9 and 7 have grown out of the on board game/chore points scoring feature which only really leaves it as a step counter/watch. I feel an 11 year old would be better off with something aimed at older kids or with some sort of phone (assume they have a phone) connectivity.

I would go for the Amazfit 5 band. It's pretty much the same but with oxygen sat levels ... although a bit wasted on a young'en.

The straps are quite adjustable and more holes could be punched if required.
