I went to a Blind Boys of Alabama gig at Under The Bridge a few years ago, and he stood next to me - within a roped off area - for about two hours (along with assorted family & bodyguards). We were only about three feet apart the whole time, and he was certainly animated then

The hints and tips I was given that day in about 2002 have stood me in good stead ever since. I have no idea what watch he wore though, I didn't take any notice, I had my TAG 6000 auto back then.

He is an impressive shot. In photos I've seen of him it's unclear what he's wearing and in recent photographs he does not appear to be packing a watch.

A mate has a great story about Reed during a charity cricket match at stately home they both played in.
He disappeared after a skin full and when it was his turn to bat he strode out to the square in a suit of amour he had nicked from the hall way.
He made 10 was clean bowled and went straight back to the bar for the rest of the day.
