Me again Omega boutique deal smp

Watchesworld.com dont have the smp on a bracelet in blue £4450 rrp. If I go into the omega boutique with my credit card which I presume is as good as cash? What deal should i ask for? What am i likely to get off this? I am new to watch buying.

I was getting worried, its been over week since you started a thread on this subject.

Glad you are ok, perhaps you can find the time to post a little more regularly on the subject from now on so I can sleep at night.
    Cheers,

Ask for 50% off. If you go in too low they won’t take you seriously.

Also I’ve heard that in the boutique the salesman will throw in his tie and cuff links to sweeten the deal (very collectible), but you will need to ask for this early on - don’t wait until they think the deal is done or you won’t get it. Just what I’ve heard.

I presume using a credit card is the same as a debit card with the boutuque

Dont expect a big discount as those days are almost over with Omega atm, theyre trying to move up so the 20/25% of old is now a polite refusal and a laugh in the break room.
Debit card best, credit card second as a lot of the payment merchants have a small % for CC payments, cash is a headache.

Me again Omega boutique deal smp

Look, I’m trying to keep an open mind here but:

You’ve asked this question before and people said 10%-15% should be doable but 20% is extremely difficult to achieve.

    1. You know what the watch RRP is
    2. You know what the cheapest price online is
    3. You know it’s widely available.

    Why do you need pointers?

Go in to any store, say this is the watch I want. Then say this is the best price I’ve found, will you beat it / match it?
If you’re not happy with the response walk out and go elsewhere. If you are, congratulations, you’ve finally got your SMP.

Alternatively, as I’ve said before, save your money and don’t fret about a watch you’re having to stretch to.

I think Eddie should make a dedicated 'Saints2014 Forum' where the subject about how to acquire a SMP/BB can be exclusively discussed.

Good tip. In many ways the tie is more important than the papers in proving the watch came from an AD. This game is all about provenance.

    Patience dearheart, patience!

I'll probably get banned for even mentioning this, but 12,112 more posts like this one and you will be able to access the Secret Sales Corner - visible only to the forum's elite. It's where all the sought-after sports-Rolex, Omega, PP, AP, VC, etc actually go, and can be bought at wholesale prices, with no waiting-lists, and dealer-exclusive freebies thrown-in usually. Well worth the effort.

    Keep-up the good work

Over on the Omega forum, they are discussing an imminent price rise. Dunno, but may be worth considering.

now - just go and buy the thing! But I do hear the BB58 is better bang for buck.

It's a headache for them if you pay by cash? Can you elaborate?

It's what I did last time because I thought they would be more keen on giving a discount, since there are no fees on cash.
But I'd rather know for my next purchase if it's useless and really more convenient for them to be paid by debit card

Cash on premises has security and insurance issues. It also requires banking and paperwork and a physical trip by someone. Debit card achieves same outcome ie money in company account with v little costs/hassles.

It is a pain the arse for you because you normally have to make an arrangement with the bank to withdraw that amount of cash, then you have to carry it around with the risks that involves.

Then the shop has to get ID from you because due to money laundering rules they want to know where the cash is coming from.
Then they have to check it to make sure it is not fake.
Then thay have to keep it in their safe and insure it, then they have to pay for a cash collection security service to take it away and bank it or an employee has to take it to the bank with all the risk that entails.
Crooks do watch high end shops and follow people if they think there ia lot of cash involved.

It won't be long before you have to pay a premium to pay by cash it is a right royal pain in the arse and certainly not worth a discount.

I think most companies would prefer a debit card.

  25. #25
Anything over £100 in cash these days and they think it’s money laundering.

He won't buy one, he was talking about buying a grands worth of Steinharts the other week and nothing happened. If he keeps starting these threads he'll soon have access to SC.

Saints2014. How do you cope when you need to make a really big decision in life? Like what breakfast cereal to fill your bowl with? Give your head a good wobble and see if you can stir some sense inside there.

Worries me that he has his location as St Helens. My mum was born and brought up there and my grand parents lived there until they passed in the late 80s, so I am 50% woolyback. I spent a lot of my childhood there, but as I recall people were capable of making a decision.

Hardly unique to the OP though - most threads on here seem to be from those incapable of making a decision or too tight to pay for advice in the real world - oh, or bitching about Rolex.

Good news for Mr Wandril Saints, he’s got another month of threads to start up.

On that note I don’t recall seeing a single thread about a May Rolex price increase in all of April!

Malta has just made it a criminal offence to hand over EUR10k or more in cash for a watch purchase (private or otherwise). Coming to a statute book near you in due course, I’m sure.

I'm confused. Reading the thread...is it evident Wandril is Saints? Wandril came in with a question about paying cash, was replied by wiley and then said thanks? Everyone then assumed Wandril was replying about the whole thread and was Saints.

If this whole Saints thing is a troll post, its an extremely long and low grade troll. Weird way to get your kicks.

Think it's clear they're one in the same.

    Now, where are the mods?!

  45. #45
Right, it seems like there is a bit of confusion here.
Such a non sense I did not even understand it in the first place.

I am not saints2014, I have only one account which is the one I'm using right now.

I had a look at this thread, saw the point made on cash, asked a question on it, got answers, that's it!
I have nothing to do with this thread other than that, I personally just bought a bb58 and I'm happy about it, I have no interest in buying a smp at the moment.

If saints2014 can himself help clarifying the situation, that would be fantastic.

Wileeeeeey is a natural example of judging before thinking/asking, in pretty much all his posts.

Once again, I have no intention of fighting over petty things on a forum, so please, for the sake of everyone, learn to discuss, to talk, before barking, or just stay in the bear pit if it's just about that for you.

Nothing personal really, I'm not even resentful with him or others following the same modus operandi, but come on, make an effort...
