£7k-15k watch, what would you buy?

If you had £7k-15k to spend on one watch and it cannot be a Rolex, what would you buy? (no other criteria).

As a single watch probably a tudor vintage sub, like 9411, snowflake blue or something. Or one of the older model speedys. Strapmonsters both of them..

AP Royal Oak offshore diver. Lovely watch. Could you get a ceramic bezel for this money?

Assuming retail an Aquanaut. If market price possibly a VC Overseas 4500v or a Panerai of some sort.

    Correct answer I think.

Although... I'd be tempted by a JLC ultra thin or one of those dual faced Reversos.

Hi-Beat Grand Seiko of some kind but not one with a wonky date!

Failing that I would have a Heuer Autavia 1163 GMT S1,with the 1-24 markers on the bezel or an Autavia Siffert Mk2.

£7k-15k watch, what would you buy?

As I have my diver, weekend watch & quartz beater. The watch I’d go for is the GO Panomaticlunar - Silver dial with bracelet.

Leaving money aside for a calibre 11 blue Monaco.

But if your only 1 watch then either AP Diver or BBFF or Moser Sport. Tick enough boxes to cater for all scenarios & great movements IMHO

If only I had got that much to spend right now!

If the one watch wasn’t the only watch, I’d be looking at vintage and as I’m a big Tudor fan, it would likely be either a sub or a big block. Or possibly both if we stretched the one watch thing to just one budget instead.

Kash recently sold a VC overseas 4500 for around 14.5k if I recall correctly. RRP is now 19k plus. If you could get one of those for that money that would be my choice. I’ve got one and it’s the best watch I’ve ever had.

For £15k, easy choice if it sits well on your wrist: Octo Finissimo Chrono/GMT.

Exactly my point. This is a fantasy purchase question. If yours is a £10 Casio, plus cash in the bank, then you are on the wrong forum. IMHO of course. But I tend to be right, all the time - it is a cross I bear.

How do you know a Casio isn’t my fantasy purchase? Some people aren’t impressed with the size of other people’s wallets or how flash their cars/watches are...that’s all a bit crass, IMHO of course. Each to their own.

Indeed. But everyone needs to aspire to something. £10 Casio. Honestly? You blather for effect.

Think it’d have to be another shout here for a Blancpain FF of some iteration, the bezels and dials look stunning.

Maybe because it’s a strange answer. The OP is asking for advice on buying watches between 7k and 15k so logic tells me that he wants to know about watches in those price ranges. Logic also tells me that he knows what a bank account does and that he’s not looking for advice on that or £100 watches. My best guess is that your post was an attempt at humour?

Very strange answer on a post that asks for a 7k -15k watch!

For me in that range Atm I would have to scratch the Blancpain FF itch. The only question being which one. As there are so many I fancy in the price range.

I'm quite satisfied with the collection now but one watch I have always wanted is a 16760 full set with original dial/handset of course.

A Gold GO PanoReserve is on my hit list.

Another couple of £K and I might just about get a Duometre.
