I recently bought a NOS 70s watch . I’ve no reason to suppose it’s not as described but I do wonder how it and others make it 40 plus years without being sold-worn . Any ideas ?

What watch is it? It’s an interesting one - I’m a fan of Universal Geneves, and there are plenty of NOS watch from the 80s from them, just before they went bust. As a result a lot of retailers didn’t manage to sell them, especially the unpopular ones.

I've got/had a few NOS watches and often they have cosmetic defects or simply do not run properly.
Put away or sent back to a central warehouse and forgotten about.
I have a boxed NOS Timex stopwatch that simply doesn't work properly. Simple movement but not worth paying to be fixed.
Cheers,
Neil.
