Not sure it's an upgrade, but looks nice. A few of the guys on the TT forum had them a few years ago. As I said more for asthetics.

They look nice, again I wouldn’t call it an upgrade but I like my TT as close to OEM as possible horse for courses though were all different.

Personally, not for me. I’d go for a later flat top gearstick instead.

I had an R8 V10 Manual. The OEM gear gate was exactly like that, made a lovely clack as you changed up the gears, when not drowned out by the V10 of course!

So if you can source a design that's Audi's design for the R8 then at least it's in the Audi design family and shouldn't look too much like a Halfords special.

Having had an EP3 Civic Type R with metal shift knob back in 2002 I recall the hand cramp inducing cold of driving it in winter. But for feel in warmer weather it was lovely. If you like it go for it. The metal gate looks nice and I guess the rifle bolt feel and clanking will be nice too.

surly the pretty looking gate has nothing to do with the gear shift, the lever would never actually hit it.

    My opinion

My wife has had a number of TT's. She had a 2005 3.2 manual convertible for 12 years. Sold it to the first to view ( 14,000 miles )

Lots of buyers want original spec cars, no boy racer add ons.

I would leave it as standard. But thats just my thoughts
