    New (old) memovox.

I’’m well aware that there is a specific thread for incomings, but I’ve just worn this for the first time since it arrived.... and well it ain’t like I’’ve got any watch geeks at home to show off to now is it!
I bought this off markl a couple of weeks back but hadn’t’ worn it at all. Today I popped a new strap on it and I’’ve had it on for the whole evening looking at how pretty it is. The dial is so uncluttered and I just love the left/right asymmetry, but top/bottom symmetry of the crowns.
I must say, it wears a fair bit larger than I was expecting, but it’s just so lovely to look at. This is the first watch I’ve ever owned that’s made me wish I was better with the camera..

That's really nice. It's also the watch Don Draper wore, so you're officially the coolest man on the forum now.

Had to google Don Draper. Suppose I’d better buy a suit really.

That's a lovely thing - I've been tempted by the later version in the TV-shaped case.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

Preferably a grey flannel one from Brooks Brothers, single breasted with two buttons. :)

Lovely watch, they are very tempting.

FWIW I don't think JLC actually made the tuxedo dial version he wore in the TV show, so his was a frankenwatch and yours is therefore better :)

Weren’t there a few similar alarm watches?

Mad Men is a great TV show either way. And I’m pretty sure Don is most known for wearing an Omega DeVille.

    New (old) memovox.

Quite a few years ago I remember seeing a Mad Men special edition Reverso in a jeweller’s in Mayfair. It was in the window for quite a while. Had SCDP engraved I think.

ETA: Here it is. Strikes me as exactly the kind of thing Don Draper wouldn’t wear (the corporate engraving I mean).
