Nobody is forced to trade with them, it's all upfront.
If I want to deal with them, I will. My choice.
Had the misfortune to watch a couple of YouTube clips from Trotters and Watchtrader, is it just me or do they come across really bad as Jack the lad , almost spivvy salesmen ?
Maybe it’s a generation thing and they’re doing a good job for the more social media savvy generation.
Just not for me I’m afraid.

Jack the lads or not I sold a watch to Trotters a few years ago and they were top guys. I was really hesitant for a few reasons but they paid there and then in the shop and were good guys.
Having said that I get why their videos/ general presence would go against the the TZ grain.
I have been watching a few recently. The Trotters lot are a bit annoying in my opinion. WatchtraderCo are a little more tolerable.
For me, the winner is the Timepiece Gentleman in USA - I actually look forward to their new video releases.

Its difficult to appeal to all demographics when YouTubing.
Having tried it, I wouldnt actually wish it on anyone as its a royal PITA. You either come across as spivvy or nerdy, and one doesn't get on with the other.
Fair play to those who can pull off the balance!
Been bingeing on Youtube over the lockdown. Watched most if not the of the wristwatch related youtubers. Those mentioned by OP are good for a bit of entertainment. Learnt some new terms though so that I can be down with the Yoof. There are a few channels that really grate though
