Delighted to hear he is OK.
Dear everybody,
Dave (seikopath) has asked me to send his best wishes to all on the forum, and particularly to everyone who he has met personally.
He wants us to know that he is thinking of us from time to time.

That’s really good to know thanks Matthew. Is he still abroad or back home now?
I had a visit from Dave and son just before he left, I'm glad to hear he's OK!
Give him my best wishes next time you hear from him. Really miss him on TZ & our Norwich GTG.
Thanks.
That’s good to know and thanks for the heads up.
Was only wondering what had happened to Dave over the weekend, good to hear he's ok.
That is a good thing to hear. Glad he's well.

Skating away on the thin ice of a new day
Were there to be a poll held to determine the most popular member of the forum it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to see him at, or close to, the top of the list despite not having posted in well over two years now.
(OK there may be the 'odd dissenter', but I believe he's no longer around.)
Still living the dream, huh - the lucky bar steward!
Thanks for the update Matthew. I miss Dave's philanthropic view point which was certainly the antithesis of a lot here. Send him my best if he gets in touch.
Cheers,
Gary
That’s great to hear. I hope he is keeping well!
I always enjoyed our exchanges.
All the best Dave!
It's just a matter of time...
Nice to hear…. Got to know him a little bit and he’s quite the character…
Met Dave a few times as we lived very near each other - pass him my best wishes, lovely chap

Good to hear that he's ok. In his absence, we should all try to make the Forum a better place by being more Dave.
Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
For those that may not know,
As we lived within a fairly recent vicinity of each other, we kept in touch up until he moved out to Tibet to become a full time Monk.
He explained in detail about this to me and at the time and shared some photos of his guru and area that he was going to be living within, I thought good for him.
I've had a couple of messages from him, the last one in 2020.
Good to see and hear people still remember him and care.

Great to hear that BND is doing well.
Top bloke.

BND moves to Nepal to become a monk, not entirely surprising, wish him well.

I love Dave and used to chat with him regularly. Sad not to see him about on the wires anymore but well chuffed that his monking is going well (I hope)
I am sure Dave is happy with his chosen path.
He was always an asset to the forum.
Cheers,
Neil.
Hope he's well and that works out for him.
Nice to hear 'big nose' is alive and well!.

How does one become a 'full time monk'? Not being sarcastic, for a change, just wondering if it is like joining the foreign legion or something where people go to escape a problem or crap life. Or maybe a 'calling'? Not something I could do.
Dave showed me his ‘prayer space’, the door of which had special meaning to him and he’d brought from one of his journeys. I’ve no idea how you bing a whole door back but he did! Wish him all the best, he certainly had an aura of calm and tranquility around him prior to leaving the UK and I hope that continues for him - I think we could all do with a bit more calm and tranquility after this last year in particular!

Thanks for the update. Dave is one those guys who has a special light in him. I’ve never met him in person, but his light is bright enough to shine through his forum posts and private messages. My best wishes to Big Nose!
In recognition of the good stuff Dave aspires to do I wondered if somehow this might be worth revisiting?

How wonderful Matthew and thank you, please pass on my best wishes to the dear fella.
You know my stories of Dave and funny enough I had a proper shave on Sunday with his leaving gift bestowed to me when we had our parting lunch.
Some lovely words above chaps and fond memories of the Norwich GTG and impromptu coffee meet ups, he truly touched my life.

I'm a great believer in not doing things by half measures, and fair do's, going out to Tibet to become a monk is right up there. I can only give seikopath my best wishes and hope the path he has chosen is a fulfilling one.
If someone wants to do a fundraiser I've got a few bit's and pieces I can send.
Longines ballpoint pen in a leather pouch plus 2 refills. (New)
A few Bergion item's I can add. (New)
Quite a few straps that I could sort through and add in. (New)
Just PM me if this gets up and running and I will post them to whoever runs it.

A fundraiser is a nice idea, I'm not in a good position to run anything at the moment but perhaps nearer the time that I'm able to get over there. I'd suggest any donations are made to Rokpa, which is one of Dave's favoured charities. https://www.rokpa.org/what-we-do.html
I'll also be happy to take a few inexpensive watches, and am certain that he will be able to distribute them to those who need them most.

A decent order of F91's would be £10 - £15 per item, I would be happy to contribute to whatever is decided.
