Would be a Ferrari F50 for me. Not really a Ferrari fan but the F50 was the poster car when growing up and still think its stunning. Would also love a Mercedes CLK-GTR but just not sure I'd actually fit in it!
Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR Uhlenhaut Coupe.
Kinda an upgraded Gullwing, and only one remains; won't ever be sold by Mercedes but if it did it'd make a 250 GTO look cheap.

Very much the same recipe as the Facel Vega (another favourite of mine).
I think only around 100 were ever made and the design was from the pen of Giorgetto Giugiaro. His other designs where the Ferrari 250 GT, Maserati Ghibli, Lotus Esprit S1 and the Golf MKI amongst many others. There's just something about the Gordon Keebles lines that are so right, to my eyes at least.
Cheers,
Gary

For me it would definitely have to be the Ferrari 275 GTB or the Toyota 2000GT.
Toss up between a Jaguar XK120 and a Porsche 356 speedster

Ferrari F40 or a Group B Homogolation special; Ford RS200 Evolution or Metro 6R4 or Lancia 037.
Or maybe an 80s shark nose Alpina BMW 5 series or a BMW M1.
It's so hard to choose one!

The Volvo XC60 I am selling.......obviously
RIAC
Rover P5B Coupe
Opel GT 1900
Ford Granada 3.0 Ghia
As the Miura is a bit too loose at the front, especially if fuel is low, perhaps Steber's changes would make it a better proposition.
BTW, love the Opel GT Temp.
I think it would be a tough call between a 33 Stradale and a Lancia 037, however, both already mentioned so I am going to go for something actually achievable - a BMW 1M coupe, in Valencia Orange without the horrible sat nav screen in the dash.
In my filmstar fantasies I would be driving an Alfa Tipo 33 Stradale, or an AC Ace Bristol. In a world where I am a little more sophisticated than I am, I would be driving an early 911 quickly, or a Pagoda Mercedes in a more relaxed manner.
In the real world I have just taken possession of something a lot more me, a 1953 Series One 86" Landy.
It is going to be quite a while before I get to drive it at all.
Dave
Another vote here for the Alfa 33. The most beautiful car ever made, and one I can never see being surpassed where much of the design of a car is now dictated by safety regulations. I almost saw one once; I visited a business which was starting to offer resto-mods and full on restorations. They had in a 33, but when I visited, it was in bits, and completely stripped back.
Or a McLaren F1. I'm certainly not speaking from experience, but it would have to be this if the focus was driving experience.
Or a Zonda, one of the later even more bonkers models, like the BC or Revolucion.
I'd be throwing my money at MZR and building myself something along the lines of the car you see towards the end of this video
Good luck trying to get it to pass sound limit tests....:-)
Amazing car. Its soundtrack is something else..
I think it was banned from LeMans by the FIM when other manufacturers (mainly porche) threatend to throw their toys out of the pram as they couldn't compete with it.
Most of my dream garage have already been mentioned (288 Gto, Merc 300SL, zonda) but I would also want an Audi Sport Quattro in the stable, together with a Golf G60 Limited and the maddest road legal car I’ve ever seen, a Ford Pop drag racer running a supercharged 7 litre Pontiac V8 with nitrous - the thing could run 7 second quarters @ 170+ mph yet could be driven to Tesco; the child in me finds that daftness compelling.
Didn't know much about the 787b.
I found this though...
Already mentioned, but a Singer 911. In Gulf colours.
Bringing a classic back to life. Not sure if road legal status is poss though. Might have to change my choice.
A little short list:
My current Discovery 4 (but with side steps....and maybe a TDV8 engine)
A Capri 280 Turbo (but with modern brakes!)
Some sort of Lotus....perhaps an Evora 410, of a V8 Espirit. A Europa SE might be in with a shout (newer version).
Mustang GT350 (possibly)
Edit: and how could I forget? My beloved Subaru Legacy spec. B....perhaps with some Prodrive fettling.

Still this one:
For a while I was commuting from Canterbury to Redhill daily and it turned a chore into a giggle. It’s the same Rover engine as the Seven and the Elise of the period and sits closer in weight to the Seven but with decent airflow management, especially under the car. The composite monocoque offers more rigidity and more room while the linked nitrogen suspension is lighter and far more supple than either.
Proper instrumentation too!
There’s some gorgeous cars on display.
For me it will always be the Delage D8-120S Pourtout. Simply sublime

If the rules of the thread didn't include the reliability guarantee then a Singer would have been my choice rather than the Alfa 33.
They are so expensive now I think they are getting further and further away from me ever being able to afford one.
There a few Singer a-likes in the UK. One of them is called Rindt, they do the slightly newer stuff but I am keeping an eye on them in case an investment or 2 pays off.
There are many...
Saab 900 Turbo Carlsson
Bentley Continental R-type
Mercedes Gull-Wing.
Pagani huayra
but in reality it would come down to one car for one reason.
the Lexus LFA, because:
Aston Martin One-77. Saw one at Goodwood many years ago and just fell in love with it; simply stunning.
Not really, the rotary was banned along with all the other interesting engines as Bernie Ecclestone was getting twitchy about manufacturers being more interested in Group C than his personal bank account, F1.
The rules were changed to make the Le Mans cars (Group C) use F1 engines, basically to lure manufacturers into his circus rather than the endurance series (race lengths were slashed as well) - It was all greed driven and very unedifying, although budgets were on the rise, so it was debatable how long Group C could have sustained at the level it was (as we often see in endurance racing - eg the recent hybrids, a couple of seasons of Audi vs Porsche vs Toyota and then VAG took their toys away and it was just Toyota parade laps).
The rotary Mazdas at Le Mans were always a highlight though, right from the earliest models up to the 787B.
M
Breitling Cosmonaute 809 - What's not to like?
Friend of a friend of a friend has a 2000GT - says it's a rotten car, and he has a _lot_ of really nice machinery.
My choice something lightweight, not too much power, preferably mid-engined.
Porsche 904/Carrera GTS, whatever you want to call it
Porsche 550
Renault 5 Turbo II
Lancia Fulvia 1600 HF (might have said before, but my dad used to have one, and if this imaginary scenario rules out rust, I'd definitely have one)
Dino.
And could the very fortunate person who removed his/hers from Beaulieu museum approx three years back, please bring it back?
The staff member, of whom I enquired last year, advised that he/she had taken it out for an MOT - and hadn't returned.
Can't say I blame them.
I don’t get so much kick out of sports cars and way too easy to lose one’s licence. I’d be quite happy with a Ford F150 Tonka truck. I wouldn’t need or want another car at all.
So many cars, would have to be an F40, never has a turbo engine sounded so good.
Would also love an original side exit 427 AC Cobra, they are so small it’s essentially you and a 7.0L V8 rumbling down the road!

Lots of exotics and supercars certainly come to mind and a few BMW M cars will always have a special place in my heart.
However if it's just one car, I'm going to go with the slightly sad and boring option; a newer/latest version of the car that I have owned for nearly 20 years - a Toyota Landcruiser*
*My genuinely ideal car would be a full fat Range Rover but made by Toyota - IYKWIM.
^I'm coming around to the appeal of the Landcruiser.
BTW, you could have the RR made by RR as we're assuming excellent reliability with any choice...
Speaking of which...
