    The serial indicates June 1997, 2007, 2017 I am guessing 1997 or 2007

I’d agree 97 looks the most likely candidate based on how weathered it is. Think the only way to be sure is to crack it open and see which version of the movement is inside

Many thanks, he says he has had it since 1990 something so 1997 sounds about right. Would an early version command a higher value, guessing this is only a hundred quid.

In this condition I would think it is worth virtually nothing. They are cheap to start with and to get it back to decent condition would likely require the same money spent on it that a new(er) one would cost.

Paul, this is the very rare faded bezel type with authentic WABI , so to you, a collector of all things fine...£1,000. ;-)

This is the quandary with the cheaper Seikos.

One of My SKX's needed some work doing on it to fix the date feature. With a service the cost was more than I could buy a new one for!

Unless it is of sentimental value I'd sell it as a non runner or whatever (for a DIY fix) and buy a new one.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

Brand new ones can be found for around £200, so as previously stated, if it doesn't have sentimental value it's not worth throwing loads at it. However if you can do the work yourself a new movement, crystal and strap should come to under sixty or seventy quid (depending on the strap chosen), so would be a nice little doer upper.

I really like that someone has used and lived with this one. Obviously worn without a care in the world. Could have been cleaned a bit but good for the owner.
