    2 Hummers.............and 5 Omega

I picked up a 198.029 skin diver last week, fitted a fresh battery and a new Tropic strap and realised that I now have 2 Hummers, not intentionally but you have to love them.

This also brought my Omega count to 5, there is so much diversity in Omega’s back catalogue that there is something for everyone.

The reason the F300 is on its side is that the Tropic is quit thick at the end that it wont rotate under the hooded lugs but wears ok on the wrist. It would be a better strap if the lug ends were rounded off instead of being a shear vertical cut, obviously it would fit other watches better but is so supple its not a real issue.

    Cheers,

    Ben

Ben, you really should get the Omega bracelet for this.

I still have the invoice from the Omega Boutique at Heathrow if you need the reference.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

As it happens I have a NOS one arriving next week, ref is 022ST1162173. Is that the same as yours?

Exactly the same. £215 in March 2013 - I hope they don’t take your (PoW check) trousers down.

This is Omega we are talking about here, we all have to expect to loose our trousers every now and again. They wanted £495 for a new one but I have managed to find one substantially cheaper thanks to a kindly forum member.

A very nice and select collection there picking very different significant Omegas. You don't see many skin divers with perfect bezels. The one that would worry me is the beta 21. Those are likely on borrowed time.

Mine has been faultless through many battery changes, every 12 months for these. I do think these early quartz and hummers can be a bit of a worry but there people about that can look after them. That said mine are somewhat babied and get a very easy life.
