    eBay SKX madness

Maybe I’m missing something here, but this looks like a well used SKX013 for £900. I have seen some optimistic SKX asking prices but this takes the biscuit. It does come with box and original tag tho.

Could be a joke I suppose. For some reason the geezer does mention that he works in the film industry, but unless he prized it from the wrist of Dwayne Johnson I don’t see the relevance.

Tight fecker isn’t even offering free postage! 900 quid for an SKX and he couldn’t even be bothered to take some pics in the light and without his pyjama bottoms in them.

Prices on eBay for watches have gone mad though, it seems impossible to get a nice little bargain these days like you could 4 or 5 years ago.

The only way to make that a £900 watch is to put the word ‘rare’ in the title 😂

That's what I've been doing wrong. I'll add rare to the title of my listing on SC.

Description contains the usual buzzwords - Discontinued, Icon, etc. He even specifically mentions the fact it is been priced high cos it’s an actual seiko classic. I do wonder if he’s just taking taking the mick

I assume this was put up with the £1 listing deal they recently did, so all the seller needs is for one person to panic and think it's going to be a rare piece, and then it's rather more than quids in.

Or he is a member of a watch forum. They used to be £90 and £110 on the awful bracelet. When they stopped making them suddenly they were an "iconic classic" and the retail prices doubled. Old Orient Mako went the same way.

The world is full of mugs, it's a 100 quid watch with a cheapo movement.

Agree about the mugs bit. Some of those mugs go on a waiting list for years so they can spend thousands on a watch that does exact the same as said £100 watch.

I can't see anyone being stupid enough to actually bid £900 on the SKX though.
