    Diving Chrono...getting an itch..

I am really getting an itch for an Auto Chrono movement in my small dive watch collection.

I feel this is the missing piece :).

I would potentially move my EZM 3F, to make place for it, as it is not getting any wear. I used to have a Sinn 203, I really liked it, but I was not too keen on the bracelet and all polished look of the case.

I really like the look of the 206 Arktis and the improved pushers. It is however large (43mm), has a display back (not too keen on that) and the all polished case might put me off again.

The other runner is the 41.5mm Omega SMP Chrono co-axial. I already have the three hand SMPc though, so am not sure about it.

What have you or what dive chrono would you get, in a one chrono watch collection?

Jaeger Le Coultre Deep Sea chrono is an absolute favourite, though discontinued now. Stunning piece and an ISO certified Diver!

Proces are pretty solid though: https://www.chrono24.co.uk/search/in...goal_suggest=1

If you have the wrists the Marathon CSAR it’s a cracking watch
    It is very big though

The lume on the sub dials is useful, one of the few chronos you can use in the dark

Perhaps a Sinn 206 Arktis? Available in blue or black with the 5 link bracelet?

Yes. This remains at the very top.

Shame its Magnetic resistance has been compromised, not having a soft iron core and solid caseback as on the SMP.

Am not 100% sure of the fully polished case either. IT did bug me a bit on my old 206.

Have had two of those. Beautiful and very underrated watches.

I'd like a dedicated chrono movement now.

A dive instructor I know wears one of these as his daily watch. I have forgotten the number to times I have tried to buy it from him over a beer. They look great on the rubber strap.

He probably needs it for the weight to help diving! It’s a very heavy watch!

I do not think it is overly heavy.

It's even a relatively 'small' watch.

The centre minutes and the locking bezel are very nice features too!

I never bonded with it though.

I'd personally be tempted by something like this (or a fifty fathoms if I'm feeling wealthy!). I expect they can be had on the forum for £2k-2.5k

One of the best specced dive chronos I ever owned was the Breitling Avenger M1.
The lume was not exceptional, but other than that it was very good.
Ti, magnetic pushers (that do not penetrate the case, so are usable at any depth), and a thousand metres WR should be enough.
    But it is quartz.
I too like the THAG, and the hinged rubber is very comfy, but the low (and very sharp edged) crown really bugged me, and as they age I have seen very many for sale with the rubber pusher boots ripped or damaged, which is not a good sign.

I have heard this complaint about the crown digging the wrist, but must admit I did not find it much of an issue myself.

The rubber did bug me yes.

Also the 24h counter seemed superfluous for me.

What I’m wearing now, Deepstar 2020. Bonus, pushers can be operated underwater

Not really a diver - but has screw down crown & locking pushers for 150m WR ( which is deeper than I'll ever go )
