Bit behind on Omega chrono prices...If you compare to Speedy’s current prices it’s actually a bargain!

Might argue the heritage etcc but for me White Chrono is the pick. Everything else is just meh

Definitely. Omega beat Tudor to the punch on that for sure.

    Tudor:

    Loving a silver case.

& I think I’ll buy the updated white dial Chrono.
It's just a matter of time...

"So big launch today guys" ......."have we upped our server capacity ?"...."nah it will be fine"......

Only a voiceover by 'Rylan' or 'Ja-Ja Binks" ..would be worse...

that said the Chrono - Pandas are delightfull and love the use of Silver and Gold for BB's

The chronos are quite nice, and I don’t think the price is too bad considering where omega chronos currently sit. Do think they missed a trick by not releasing a 58 sized GMT. What the hell was the black/red teaser all about? Only hint of red I can see is the tip of the chrono hand - talk about an anti climax!

That would have been prefection, I love the pelagos and wore it daily but after buying a BB58 realised it was too chunky.

The titanium is super light, the bracelet a joy to wear, super legible, great bezel assembly.

I can't see it competing with any Rolex either so can't figure out why they've not done it

Re the 58 925, returning unnecessary thickness to a slimmer version of a thick watch in order to add a display back for possibly the dullest looking movement ever created. Brilliant.

  8. #108
Despite my disparaging post earlier, I would add that I like the colour of the 925 dial and bezel. If it was in steel and 30% cheaper, it would be up for consideration.

    But silver? Why??

I like the dial in the chronos but the BB crown doesn't work for me with the chrono pushers.

Is it a case of a deposit at a AD and then wait or will they be in stock? looking at the Panda

Anyone else thinking the gold black bays should have been the Harrods edition?

Mind you they should link up to do Olympic editions of their now set of bronze, silver and gold black bays!

White chrono is the best release IMO followed by the Silver Black bay. However, not looking forward to the silver tarnishing and need to dig out the silver cleaner!

Jup, no idea who thought that was a good idea at Tudor. Really liked the silver model, but that's a massive turn-off.

From my experience with the 58, just a matter of popping in and get to the list. 4/5 weeks and that’s done.

How thick are these now then?

12.7mm vs 11.9mm - staying under 12mm was perfect for the smaller case.

They should have designed a non-tarnish sealed silver.

The Chrono is the pick for me, and I love the movement. One of the best at that price point.

According to the Hodinkee article, the alloy being used means it shouldn't tarnish.

Chronos look nice, especially the white face. Should appeal to those that want a Daytona but aren't willing to pay Daytona prices.

This is how the process works.

Make about 25-30 posts on TZ-UK asking opinions about which to buy-Tudor or Omega, which one will hold the value, which one is a future classic, where is the best place to buy, what kind of discount to expect, whether the price you saw online is fair etc. By that time it will be time for 2022 releases. Rinse and repeat:-)

I lost track...did you ever commit to a BB58 or an Omega? If not, you are back to square one with these options!

the BB58 925 is interesting. Not interesting enough to buy but I wonder what the case feels like.

So the red / black mix was a complete red herring ...

Quite like the BLACK BAY FIFTY-EIGHT 925 ... but an extra £700 for a display case back over the standard 58 seems a bit strong.

Is the extra £700 not because the case is silver not steel?

AH ... I'd missed that; hence the 925 ... silver over steel? seems an odd choice; I guess that is why there is no bracelet option then.

I also see it had got thicker ...

So; I quite like the colour but not that it is a silver case and has no bracelet and the extra thickness for a display case back which shows a dull movement also seems like a pointless step.

I will be sticking with my original black 58.

Who will want an 18ct BB?

I'm getting invalid URL where the North Flag previously lived, does that mean it's discontinued or the website is still broken?
It was discontinued a while back, right?

Was hoping they’d come up with a similar unique design today. But I suppose it wasn’t particularly well loved, and they still do have the Pelagos. For now at least.

Brooklyn Beckham, and he won't have to pay for one either. A twelve grand Tudor with the same movement as a two grand one - who's going to buy that?

    Christ, where have you been?

People pay silly amounts for basic ETAs or very basic ancient in-house movements in certain ‘premium brands’!

However, I do agree that if you wish to have an exhibition case back then pretty up the movement. It is a bit perverse to thicken up a watch which was differentiated to be slimmer that the original!

Hate to be negative but I think the green dial gold BB58 looks hideous (personal opinion of course)

For .8 of a mm? I don’t think you’d notice it frankly. WIS tend to get all hyped up about tiny increments but honestly it won’t throw it off much, It’s still under 13mm which is perfectly fine for a sports watch, well it’s a sort of sports watch!

The 18kt gold green BB is seriously ugly and the price tag is insanity for the brand. The display caseback is comical on that one.

The silver 58 looks nicer but why do we need a silver BB?

The chronographs don’t quite work for me with the round plots.

    Very confused by these releases.

I'm late to the party, but my thoughts are:

    • White dial chrono - seems to be the winner of the day for Tudor, although not enough to tempt me personally.
    • Gold BB58 - I like the look of it, but can't understand why anyone would buy it. Feels like they added a display back to save cost on materials, can't think why else they'd do it...
    • Silver BB58 - I don't really like the look of it and I don't understand why anyone would choose silver over steel. Perhaps I'm missing something, but the silver in this watch must be worth about £30, this doesn't count as a PM watch IMO.

Surprised by the amount of folk on the tread who seem willing to sway their entire opinion on a brand based on a voiceover on a YT video though. Seems a bit of an overreaction.

Why would anyone considering a 'dive/toolwatch' ever purchase silver as a case material. Ceramic, yes, bronze, hmm, ok, but silver, really. Next step watchwise maybe, zinc, copper, iron, etc, etc. Silver maybe ok as a dressy watch material end of.

Speaking of ETAs, it was only today I discovered that Tudor have started using Sellita movements in there 32, 36 and 41 range.

a confusing offering... my half hearted joke before the release about precious metals and striking colour combinations sadly turned out to be true.... dope....
