    Discos, just no.

Other than as packing material for anything that you want to turn orange, Wotsits can have only one purpose in this world.

Flamin' hot. Also, why has there never been a crisps and watches thread?

A strange snack indeed. One half of my brain is convinced I don’t like them, but the other half says otherwise. I just end up having to eat more to try and settle the debate.

Aren't they edging more towards the savoury biscuit genre than the crisp realm...

close call between pickled onion and roast beef.
They have never been the same since changing the texture a few years back.
Used to be a thicker consistency and pretty much a meal in themselves.

Giant Wotsits are currently the household favourite.

Those Quavers (which are delicious) are most likely hiding with the Skips!

I cant remember any of them because as soon as i tried the hand cooked brands like Tyrrells it was impossible to go backwards so i stopped eating them sometime in the 1990`s

    Ohhhhh Skips.

    I do like them.

However, I'm not sure I like the aroma which seems to hang around like fishy velcro to anything that touches them.

If Twiglets are the G-Shock in the sector, which food is the premium choice for the discerning snacker?

I'd humbly submit that quality pork scratchings, called chicharrons out here, especially those made from pork rind by the bars themselves, on the day, are a real artisanal snack treat but that's perhaps too far a deviation from the original premise of mass produced snack/ not perhaps been widely tried by other members.

These are amazing on the keto diet. Chicharons are different to pork scratching, much lighter and are great dipped in salsa instead of tortilla chips

skips are a lot like scampi fries - the scent equivalent of putting in a 12hr shift at the fish market. Social distancing in a bag

Tyrrells do not in any way replace Monster Munch or Skips or Whotsits etc etc. They are a completely different kettle of fish

Streaky bacon frazzles were definitely a big favourite in the early years, glad to hear they still exist.

Flamin hot is also quality it the rest are all poor in comparison which is why they’ve not endured.

Have you tried beef Hula Hoops? You might find that they hit the spot, slavour wise.

Call me crazy, but I think beef Monster Munch would taste better if they weren't in a yellow packet.

Oh yes beef hula hoops are a good shout :-)

    Burts beef crisps too!

I find myself enjoying salt and vinegar and cheese and onion square crisps sometimes as well - especially with a cream cheese as a dip, Boursin being the preferred option though Philadelphia will do.

Many moons ago I used to enjoy the cheese and onion Golden Wonder and I had a client that was a sales rep for them. She told me they were often in supermarket own brands - Presto’s, then Safeway’s (now Morrison’s) being one.

Bizarrely some supermarket own brand of S&V and cheese and onion seem far tastier - I’m guessing they’ve a lot more additives in them but when it comes to crisps, you can’t dwell on such things!

Surely then it’s all foreign as potatoes were brought here by Walter.

That’s aside guacamole and salsa do taste so much better in Mexico. I make them at home and whilst it’s good I’m guessing we don’t have the climate.
