    Well they did!

As I’ve always been saying the only way to make Explorer better is 36mm!

Seems rumours of the GMT Master now available on oyster and jubilee is correct too. £7,550 for oyster vs £7,750 for jubilee

It’s almost as if they know they don’t even need to try these days. Do whatever and it’ll fly off the shelves.

36mm Explorer great, two tone hideous, and very little change with the Explorer II

Such a typical 'meh' Rolex new watch release... But going back to 36mm for the Explorer.. Is that almost an admission of the mistake to 39mm?

It feels quite liberating to say ‘meh’.

I prefer the explorer at 36 mm as well.. this does look pretty much identical to 14270, except for the 'Swiss Made' with a crown in the middle right?

    Meteorite dial Daytona for me.

Does look like during shut down the designers let their kids have a go at colouring in some pictures and the better ones have been turned into actual watches.

Still not going to make it any easier for me to get a no date sub. Not keen on the 2 tone explorer. Probably a good move offering the GMT on either bracelet. However what happens when the AD phones and says they’ve got a GMT on a jubilee but you wanted an oyster. The configurator would be fine if you could actually order the damn things.

Agree the two tone Explorer is an aquired taste but the 36mm Explorer is welcome and they haven’t done anything horrible to the Explorer ll. I’d say it’s a bit of a result.

As I own two of the above, and the Explorer 2 (your old one), this has been a shocking release from Rolex 😂

Makes sense seeing as though the SkyDweller is just a DateJust on steroids anyway. May as well give it the DateJust bracelet.

I think Eddie got it right with the gilt dial Everest don't think Rolex have with the two tone.
36mm is too small for me but works for a lot of people, don't see why they couldn't offer both sizes.

I'm only seeing the jubilee bracelet option on the steel GMT, no oyster. Maybe their site is playing up ...

Wimbledon dial now available in the 36mm Datejust. The new blue dial looks nice

3-6-9 only works on smaller dials!

I didn't realise the GMT and Sub were so close in price. I always thought the GMT was a step up in price.

What’s the difference between the old Batman? And the new Batman on oyster?

Is it the same case and movement?

Perhaps a 39 or 40mm Tudor Ranger could fill the void left by the old Explorer?

Now that Rolex offer the GMT on Oyster - should be able to just order the oyster bracelet directly. Just wished they had the smaller glidelock clasp (à la the oysterflex clasp with the YM41), then the watch would be just puuuurfect.

The case on the 116710BLNR is slightly beefier at the lugs plus it has the older movement. I'm in no rush to upgrade mine but still waiting for a Pepsi on jubilee.

I think Rolex are going down the Panerai route and have simply run out of ideas. How bloody big was this Gibeon meteorite...?!

  45. #145
It could be time to chop the Daytona in for the Meteorite version. Hmm.

36mm explorer and revised oyster BLNR are definitely happening.

  46. #146
    Explorer two tone horrendous

    All steel 36mm welcome

Explorer two tone probably the worst watch I’ve ever seen. Can’t believe it looks so bad.

    Decent entertainment so fair:-)

£4K extra for the meteorite dial !!! The black diamond dial isn’t even that much.

As a polar Explorer II owner, I was interested in the re-spin, but am struggling to tell the difference (apart from the new movement). Side by side pics suggest the bezel numbers are slightly larger but thinner and maybe the lugs are a little slimmed down? ( old on left, new on right)
