Bump.
Hoping it's still a possibility.
Hoping it's still quartz.
And there's me, thinking I would never buy another quartz watch...
Same here - this is a no-brainer purchase for me, especially with a textured dial. Can I ask why you'd prefer the fixed bars? I'd queue up for this either way (and whatever the movement, frankly - though I'd prefer quartz), but as a serial strap-changer I would probably go for springbars as a default so that I could put it on leather. Is it for historical accuracy, safety, or something else?
Looks brilliant.
Fixed bars and a mechanical movement please
I very nearly bought the CWC but would definitely prefer a Smiths.

I’ve been wearing a Hamilton W10 for the last two weeks and really enjoying the compact case style. I also saw this on MWR and while a different watch it share a similar look had a few nice orginial features, especially the textured dial. The textured glossy dial is clearer in the MWR link.

These are a lovely little watch, the gloss dials are a bit of a difference to most military watches. This case shape was popular in the 70s the British, the Swedes the South Africans and Rhodesians all used similar looking watches with similar case shapes.
I am looking forward to seeing how this project turns out.
I love those little Candinos, and although the one linked shows the dial better, I much prefer them with the larger crown (like the one pictured).
However, I see it as very different to the one that Eddie pictured in the OP...
Wondering if this would work better with a 38 mm case and 20 mm lugs?
There is one on eBay right now...not mine...but looks in good condition
