Hi, I have a rectangular vintage Seiko which I had electroplated in the UK about 4 years ago. I have a watch collection so the seiko doesnt get worn that often. I keep the watch in a purpose built box and I noticed today that there is a small amount of tarnish on the gold plating. The electroplating was not an expensive job so I guess the very minimum of gold was applied. I dont want to risk removing the plating so have not used any abrasive cloths/creams. I am using a soft polishing cloth with lots of elbow grease but I cant shift all the tarnish. Would toothpaste or cigarette ash do the trick or can anyone please reco something else. many thanks jack.
