    Watch service centre Yorkshire recommendations

    Evening chaps and chapettes

Don't shoot to kill but apologies if it's been asked before,
I'm looking for a decent place for a friend to take his watch for a replacement battery/ service.

    Any places in leeds/yorkshire way?
    Thank you

Are you looking for somewhere to get a battery changed or a service on a mech/auto?

Both mate... it's a quartz Tag watch but not been running in 10 plus years...
My friend doesn't mind posting it off to brendan down in torquay or duncan at genesis but local to leeds, bingley is prefered
    Thanks

If you've got somewhere you usually use and are happy with it then I'd continue. I asked the same thing about year ago to no avail.

You could ask Parkers in Sheffield but I don't know if they only do the watches they are selling.

If the watch hasn’t run for 10 years and its been stored with a battery there’s a chance that the battery has leaked and caused damage.

Quartz movements eventually need stripping and cleaning, the lubrication gets stick and the current drawn by the movement increases. Battery life can be shortened and eventually the watch won’t run.
