    Chewitt watch cup tournament SOTC

So lockdown bordom has really kicked in and instead of doing a SOTC I've decided to pitch my watches against each other to find out the overall winner. Using a traditional cup format of last 16, quarters, semis and final and using a app to randomly do the draw, each day, a new game, vote for your winner of each match

So 2 watches got byes into last 8
    Panerai 590
    Bremont AltC

So the first match of the round of 16

Rolex SD 43 versus Tudor black bay 36

Bit of a Spain verse Andorra match this..let's see your votes

No contest, SD43 all day long.

I’m probably the only one but the SD43 for me was the final move from Rolex away from proper tool watches to full on man wristcandy. So I’ll go for the Tudor, much more in keeping with the Rolex roots.

I’d lean towards the SD43, as a knock tournament to reach one watch to rule them all, having a bezel and date trumps the Black Bay on a practicality level.

The nimble 36 nicks a 1-0 win from the lumbering overweight 43.

So the Rolex goes through 8-4, little lad goes home.

Second game should be much more competitive.

Tag Heuer Monaco v zenith el primero rainbow

A much more balanced battle. Vote now

Monaco for me - iconic design worn as worn by Walter White and Steve McQueen, and a nice break from circular case designs.

    Zenith, no doubt.
I never really got into the Monaco re-editions, and up against the El Primero? 36000bph every time

Iconic watch versus iconic movement. I’m not a fan of modern Tag and I’d prefer the El Primero in literally any other Zenith watch so I can’t decide. Draw.

Bucking trend and going with the Heuer, there's just nothing else like it + SMQ = CoolAF, so what's not to like? Had the Zenith been a classic tricolour El Primero I might have been swayed...

Tough one but it's the Monaco for me. If it had been the original Zenith Rainbow it would've been very hard to call.

I do like a Zenith but could not live with the cut-out numbers on this dial. A narrow win for the Monaco for me.

Love the Monaco, super wrist presence but maybe a tad big for some, iconic.
Would like to try the Zenith, great splash of colour, another icon.
But Monaco edges it for me on strap but romps home on bracelet

Some flashes of brilliance from the plucky Scotland Monaco but it ultimately comes up short against the Zenith.

    Zenith through on penalties.

That's a really tough vote as I like those pretty much equally. I'll vote Monaco here though.

Zenith gets through, Monaco goes home after a tough draw in the first round

    Now for the big guys....

    47mm radiomir 425 SLC v 48mm zenith pilot GMT

Both wear much smaller than the sizing suggests

    Vote away

The Panerai - love the simplicity of the dial, and the detail of the S.L.C discreetly etched into the rehaut at 12.
