    Furlan Marri - Kickstarter

Anyone backed the Furlan Marri watch that launched on kickstarter today?

Patek 1463 homage with a meca quartz movement for £250.

First came across it on instagram, been covered in a few places like Revolution and Worn and Wound etc.

Appears to have been really popular judging by number of backers.

    Thoughts?

Love the look of it but I haven't pulled the trigger as I know I'd never wear it.

They've played the hype train very well, I seem to see them everywhere

Indeed, done well with the hype train. This style of watch is usually associated with a finely finished movement. Thus for me with the quartz.

I’ve been following this launch too and have been very tempted. Like you say they’ve generated some great hype but I just know I wouldn’t wear it much!

I'm not familiar with the Patek but my personal view of Roman numerals on a chronograph is the same as elastic with trousers. The former has no place on the latter.

A rather nice looking thing, but as with others, I just know I wouldn't wear it.

The Roman numerals look to be only for the time function - Arabic numerals are provided for the chronograph.

The combination is a crime against humanity

I don't know the Patek either, and I'm sure the original is a work of art, but this just looks a bit like an H.Samuels special...

I think it’s rather lovely looking and I would have picked up a salmon one if it was just a little bit bigger and mechanical.

They deserve to do very well though - the product looks good, offered at a very accessible price point, and their marketing campaign has been exceptional. Good luck to them.

I quite like the look of them but I have enough quartz watches in my collection now.

Echo the others above, for some reason I know I wouldn't wear it, perhaps because I backed Undone on their Kickstarter campaign when I bought a Killy and I never wear that.

If only it was 41-2mm, manual wind and on a bracelet, shame, but nice looking watch though.
