New Rolex Submariner 124060 Steel - non date availability check in

Just a fishing exercise to see what the wait time has been for any new owners? I have my name down for the new 124060 since Nov, but no call as of yet....

    About 1month.

But I had bought a CHNR in 2019 from the group and other watches previously and most recently a Yacht Master Everose Gold on OysterFlex 40mm - 126655 when I requested to be put on “the list” for one in October last year.

Put my name down in November, got the call 3-4 weeks ago

Had previous purchase of Explorer 1 in July 2020, no history before that.

Interesting feedback. I purchased a new OP 114300 in 2017 from the same AD. I’ll throw a call in next week.

I just waited 6 weeks on new LV sub. Talk of lists thousands deep is pure nonsense.

I think it does really depend on the AD.

I originally put my name down for the 40mm about 18 months ago, updated it when the 41mm was released and picked it up Monday.

    History - BLNR in 2017

Not long after initial euphoria on release. I got one after a few weeks from an AD I have history with. Makes you wonder who the mug is who has 'reserved' one at Watch Club advertised at £11,450

I agree, a lot of them seem to end up in grey retailers.

a friend of mine got a call in feb and was on a waiting list for 3 months so these seem reasonably
attainable. saying that he has some buying history with the AD

Put my name down mid-Nov with my AD, no sign yet. Similar to another member earlier, my purchase history is simply my Explorer 1 from 2019.

No rush for me though so I'm not chasing on it. It either turns up or it doesn't!

Do you have buying history with that AD? As even here on the SC people are paying thousands more than RRP for Submariners and if they could all get a new one from an AD in a few weeks I assume they would.

I won’t be paying over the odds for sure. Full RRP and not a penny more. I’ll actually be asking for 5/6% discount.

Is your discount code "up the Ra"?

Yes but not loads and we are talking about a city centre AD here who have plenty of other customers to serve. Helps if you can demonstrate you still have all previous purchases I think.

If you have good AD history these are available.

I have a friend who wants to replace his 114060 with a 124060, but like some refusing to pay some of the ridiculous second hand prices out there. So if anyone knows a dealer that wants a genuine sale to a non-flipper I'd pass his details on.

Interesting. Where do they rank against other Professional models, I wonder?

I got the impression that SD43 was possibly one of the less impossible.

This is correct. TT root beer fairly easy also.

I'd say ND Sub is harder than those 2 (and the Expl1/Air King), easier than the Date Sub and much easier than the Green Sub.

You've got more chance of getting a blood clot after the AZ vaccine than getting a Daytona within a year :)

My local AD with whom i have built up a relationship over the last 8 years is struggling to get me a Sub Date within 12 months but can get me a SD43 within 6 months no problem.

However i am still waiting for the Omega Snoopy which should have been the end of March but now looking likely to be end of June.

That’s why I waited so long, I only had one other purchase with that AD and it was before they’d been taken-over by Mappin & Webb. It seems if you’re a new customer you’ve little chance of getting a desirable piece quickly.

I waited about 3 weeks for a Sub Date in September 2020. Do have some history with the dealer, not sure if it's different for the ND. Was at the dealer collecting the better half's Datejust from a service when I asked to put my name down for a new sub. Said I'd prefer the date but would take a ND if it was available. Was very surprised to be phoned. When collected it I asked about the Pepsi I'm still waiting for, not so lucky there I think! Hear people are getting Subs fairly quick though.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.

I registered interest in October and had the 124060 in hand in early December. I have a good relationship with the AD, which helped. I don’t think they will be too difficult to buy, when life goes back to normal. I have a mate who registered interest with no sales history at his local WoS and got a 124060 within a month!

I would add that I absolutely love the new proportions. I didn’t see a perceptible difference at first, but after wearing the 124060 for a while now...when I look at the old “super case” sub, it looks bloated.

I received 6% off the last 114300 I purchased in 2017. It wasn’t even a struggle, I asked politely and there wasn’t an issue with it. Nice company to deal with.

    A 114300 isn’t a steel sub, and 2017 was a different world from 2021.

There's no chance on Earth you're getting a discounted steel sub in todays market. The ADs won't have discretion on this. The damage it would do the brand if it got out they had started discounting these 'hot' models... it's nonsense.

Excellent. The bit about three types of Rolex owner made me smile.

Wondering how many who claim to be in category 3, are in reality closer to category 1 than they would care to admit!😀

Surely the point is that discounts are given to shift goods that aren’t going fast enough. I’d have thought an AD could sell a new Sub at list 10 times over so why would they offer a discount?!

Like a few others on here I got my new ND last month . I got a new SD 50th in October last month and asked for a ND then so 4 ish months.
I'm surprised at the money people are talking about in trying to buy these, too many rumours and not enough facts maybe.

I don’t own a sub but videos of that nature smell a little too much of jealousy to me, yeah the whole professional Rolex secondary market is a little ugly but that doesn’t distract from the fact that they are very nice, iconic watches.

They are also a vehicle for you tubers to ramp their audiences.

I saw a you tube video recently where the host was responding to a complaint about the Rolex heavy content of the videos on what was supposed to be a Watch channel not a Rolex channel.

He said that the basic facts were that a video with Rolex in the title got double the amount of views than one without.
