My collection as it currently sits, the photo is missing the Omega Flightmaster, Roamer Pasadena and PRS82 which are all away for a service currently.

That is bonkers. Little bit of a military theme going on there. I enjoyed zooming in on the CWC watches to see which ones you have. Would you really miss 4 or 5 of those and use the money to get an original 1980 Auto. A bit of consolidation can be good for you.

It is something currently being considered.
A few will be going soon as I just don’t wear them anymore.

It's how the man maths works. I've sold two watches this week and that has covered about 85% of the cost of the Fat Nav, just one more then I'm there. You don't focus so much on the price, more a case of I traded those 2 or 3 watches for the one I wanted.

Totally get you, I just have a strange block about spending that sort of money on a watch.

Hmmm Anonimo cronoscopio mkII, lovely. Any chance of a few close-ups when you have time.
    Nice collection too.

Been through a journey of around 35 or so watches over the last 7 years and currently I'm down to these 4, which I think is my magic number.

woodruffm, is the bracelet on the SD on back to front?

Great watches btw, I was hunting through the forum for the Sub and SD a few months ago and you'd bought the best two!

No, it's on the normal way, although it does look a little off in the photo for some reason.

Thanks, I am really smitten with the 5 digit divers, although for the life of me I can't get the sub to fit/sit correctly on the bracelet so I've given up and now wear it 24/7 on the rubber nato.

You have possibly picked my favorite watch of my little collection, I've owned it for quite a few years now & if I sold it, I'm not sure where I would be able to get another one from, so its defiantly a keeper, glad you like it.

Always loved these, and nice to see one here.

Old Anonimo was brilliant, and the Cronoscopio and Millemetri/Polluce were their very best.

    Great pictures too

State of the chronograph collection to be more precise.
Chronos have become the core of my collection over the last 1.5-2 years.
Here's where we are at the moment:

Due to circumstances beyond my control I won't be buying (maybe only selling as a last resort) for a while and such time that I leave the UK - which is scheduled for September / October. To that end I an "stuck" with this little lot:

    Loose: Omega X-33 MK2
Bottom: Rolex Air-King-Date; Rolex 126655 YM40 RG; Rolex 124060 Submariner non-date; Patek Philippe 5146J Annual Calendar Yellow Gold; Vacheron Constantine 4500V Blue; Rolex 116610LV "Hulk"

There is enough variety for now - I guess - some had to be culled which was sad as the Zenith really was a prize piece.

I will still continue to post, but don't expect any "incomings" for a while, at least until I reach the European markets.

(yes I know I need a better watch box....)

    Cheers all. Martyn

So 1 watch out (Zenith) and 3 watches in (AK, Hulk and X33), with 1 other incoming delayed (AP)? Good ratio ! [The Hulk will look great in the Portuguese sun.]

Really nice set to take with you. I can't tell you how much I wish I'd sourced a Hulk earlier seeing where they are valued now. Where are you off to?

The state of the collection thread

I have had a few ins and outs recently so the collection stands at these

I am trying to work out what will be culled next. I seem to be in a clearance frame of mind, lots of things I collect are getting shifted on. It’s quite good for the mind.

That is just bonkers John, more like an obsession than a collection. I would love to see a picture of where you keep all the boxes and associated guff, that's probably a spare bedroom full on its own.

I certainly don't envy the servicing costs

Hence the thinning. It’s getting a bit daft, this along with my other obsessions (it’s a good word for it) means we need a bigger house, not that she minds. It’s bleedin’ daft!

Thank you for the kind words Gents
I really need to get a handle on it. Having this many watches is actually a ball ache. They just take up space plus the servicing costs are starting to have an impact.

Edit: I have just realised there is an entire box of Seikos and Citizens that are not in these pictures.
That’s how bad my obsession is, I don’t know how many I have!
    There are 2 6309s a 007 and 2 Citizen wingman’s to add to the photo…

Nice collection. I'm in the same boat....I should thin the collection(best part of 50).....but every time I look at them, I just can't bring myself to do it.

No single shot, but this is my lot as it stands right now. Zero intention to change anything, but you never know what might crop up at any given time

Can there be such a thing as an ‘anti collection’ approach? Only I seem to be on a mission to de-clutter life. How many watches do we need?
And that’s it....the lot. One ‘glamorous’ , a bit, and the other, serious, no-nonsense performance in all conditions. And, for those who like quartz, but dislike batteries, I somehow acquired, years ago, a reliable CITIZEN.
Couldn’t need more, although i plead guilty to hankering after a seriously exotic new Rolex. But that may never happen; we will see.

I don’t think there’s an anti collection as such, just an ebb and flow of the number of watches you’re comfortable with or have in your collection.

With me certainly, it varies from three upwards. Having just bought another seiko, my collection is now at eight which I feel is too many but can’t really see where to reduce it beyond maybe two.

I always felt most comfortable with about six. The problem is I've not been able to get back down to that number for years, because I tend to like the watches that I buy
