The state of the collection thread

I thought it might be nice to see the state of people's collections this far. Be it big or small. Is there a direction its heading in, is it brand specific. Let's have a look and inspire that next purchase.

Thought I was going crazy for a minute. Lovely pieces both of you. I feel I'm letting the side down so far not having a VC.

What I have, was looking to add a DJ41 blue dial baton fluted. Am on a list and was offered one last year in the middle of lock down, passed up though, wasn’t the right time.

Love that CW, it's very reminiscent of the Bulovas which are great.

Thanks. Please let's see some pics of the updated collection. Things must have changed somewhat in the preceding 11 years.

It's a modded SKX on slight tilt. Makes reading the time while glancing down at your wrist a little easier. Arguably a solution to a problem that doesn't really exist but it's a fun piece non the less.

Bottom is a one off RPaige, he builds into a few cases that appear no body else does, sometimes antique american movements, various antique pocket watch dials, all with his own twist, my one has a Unitas movement.
top right is similar really, bought a few years ago from a guy doing the same thing, modern case, Unitas movement and possibly a pocket watch dial.

Yes it was one of the wife’s Grandmothers we inherited not working, I had it repaired back in 2012, a UNO movement and solid silver case that needs a good clean.

Here's my current collection, some I've had a while and some are pretty recent additions.

    From left to right:

    1) Stowa Partitio
I'm surprised I don't see more of these on the forums. Great wee watch at 37mm. Mine is the handwound ETA version.

    2) Lima MECA01
I bought this on a complete whim. It was the first review I saw after the sale of my flat went through. It's got a Seiko movement, and it's a fun watch for a couple hundred quid.

    3) Tudor BB58 Blue
Just picked this up last Friday as an early bday present to myself. Was chancing my luck trying to get on "the list" for a sub date, and ended up walking out with this. Too early to say much about it, but it's a great watch with nice proportions. My first COSC watch too.

    4) Squale 1521
I think squale has a bad rep due to their homages. It's a shame because they have their own history, and the 1521 is a great piece. Very unique design, captive bezel, anti reflective coating on the underside of the crystal, 500m WR. I've had this a few years and it's been to multiple countries with me. Doesn't get worn much, and maybe less now I have the Tudor, but it's got a lot of memories attached to it that keep it safe!

    5) Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch
This was my first "Luxury watch" I bought for my birthday in March 2020 just before lockdown.... Needless to say it has a lot of memories attached to it, good and bad, but mainly good. I'll be wearing it when I get married this Friday so it'll be safe from flipping after that. I'm glad I grabbed one before the updated version came out, too.

    6) CWC sapphire
The consensus on these seems to be that they are too expensive for what they are, but I kept coming back to it. Perfect watch to wear when there's some risk of damage. It's built like a tank (or submarine?), And small enough that it doesn't get in the way when gardening etc.

As a bonus, here's also a photo of the Nomos Orion 33mm "rose" I gave my fiance for Xmas. Love Nomos, but I think they're too dressy for me so this way I get to enjoy it vicariously :P

After some recent comings and goings this is where I’ve finished up, should keep me happy for a while.

That was a nice bit of consolidation, I always think four would be my ideal number and I would be a very happy camper with those.
