I got some out of Costco and it is robust, to say the least.
Don’t see it on the website any more so unless store only item then you’re looking elsewhere.
Looking to fit out my garage with some decent quality racking. Looked at big dug and rapid racking, but even with the top end kit it seems a bit lightweight and flimsy.
Any recommendations greatly appreciated.

Same bought from Costco and it’s solid definitely recommend
Same here. Rock solid and takes a decent weight.
Check out Big Dug

got my garage racking there, each shelf supports 750kg
Bought the below for our recent garage for out. It looks the same as bigdug.

I like the big dug stuff, look for the ones with specified load ratings.
I’ve used them as cheap beer stillages for beer festivals, shelving for a warehouse and currently have a load holding all manner of junk in my lock up.

I use Tufferman, got some similar stuff from Big Dug too, it’s all similar, but not flimsy if you get the heavy weight stuff.
I went with a set from Storage Affairs, very solid, more than happy.

Got mine from machine mart and been happy, I wouldn’t put a gearbox on them but fine for medium weights.
I had some from Lidl previously and the frame was great but the shelves warped and sagged over time with little to no widget on them.
I needed some racking in my double garage for storage, nothing really heavy but able to take some weight. Looked at the stuff online and ended up getting this from the local Homebase. Works well and easily assembled. Pretty sturdy too.

Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
These shelving kits from the Metal Store are modular, attach to wall and floor and use 34mm diameter galvanised steel poles and scaffold planks as shelving; solid as a rock and come as standard kits or individual components for custom installations.

I like the look of their Tube Clamp Stool! Just right for the workshop perhaps.

Dexion is the brand to go for if you want solid stuff (and have deep pockets).
Thanks, some good pointer there.

I use big dug for all my shelving and racking for work warehousing purposes. I think even their cheapest stuff should be good enough for the garage.
This stuff is brilliant, its built like a tank and looks ok, I have it in the garage and have used loads of it at work.

I've had Big Dug racking in my garage for 12 years or so and it's absolutely fine - not all all flimsy when assembled. One tip if you go down this route is to buy a large tub of PVA glue and mix with a little water to paint over the chipboard shelving. This protects it from any small liquid spills.

[QUOTE=Enoch;5700961]I bought some industrial Dexion Racking. Loads of it available second hand, and it can be cut n shut to change the width etc.
This is what I did, eBay job lot, got 2 racks 1 x 2.4m and 1 x 2.0m for £110. Result

Big Dug.
I got some as a temporary measure for my home office when we moved in in 2016. Never got around to changing it. (Partly, no doubt, due to lack of funds).
I do have something slightly nicer in there as well, a bench for working on watches that I made in 2016.
Generally, a very rough office, but it suits.
I also use their racking in the shed (1/3 of a garden room; the other 2/3 is extra office/storage). I used some low shelving for a workbench. I re-enforced the top with plywood, and attached it to the wall. It holds, amongst other things, a small drill/mill, a small lathe, and tooling.
Best wishes,
Bob
Another vote for Dexion Racking here very adjustable and flexible.
If you are near Southampton we have some used Dexxion racking which would sell for less than eBay - half to me and half to the FR.
mine is ex British army stores racking, its all solid metal the shelves and all.
As its designed to hold anything from a wheel station to ration packs its indestructable and maintanace free.
None of the batch I had left, but you could phone around the surplus stores.
Another vote for Big Dug. For the heavy items, I bought some thicker mdf sheets and cut them to fit. I also bought a tin of cheap waterproof varnish from Wickes and painted all the shelfs and edges to protect from water and humidity. They've been going strong for 6 years now.
They look flimsy in pics and when assembling but the structure of the right angle corners, shelf supports and then the shelf dropping into place strengthens it all up.
Not sure if there are any wood working enthusiasts or hobbyists on here but just bought a set of these on Amazon for storing wood in the garage. Good value at £30, quick to install and very sturdy:
KASTFORCE KF1004 Lumber Storage Rack 3-Level System 100lbs per Level
They also do a 5 tier for £42.
