Omega Apollo 13 50th Anniversary 'Silver Snoopy Award' in the house!

    Hey all,
Delighted to pick up my lovely new watch today from an OB in London. This is apparently one of the first batch of 30 pieces to arrive in the UK just last month. I know there are loads of pictures online and I've probably seen them all but you really do have to see this watch live to appreciate how nice it is. The depth and detail is superb. I was instantly impressed when I finally got to see it. I'm not one for writing reviews like some members on here and I'll leave that to others, so I thought I'd let some more pictures do the talking.

Thanks for looking. I'm one happy Speedy collector today :-)

cracking photos and looks superb. I have been badgering them on and off for some time, but sadly came to the list quite late in the day, so don't see myself getting to the top any time soon.

very jealous, but then in the words of Tim Curry...."I (see you) shiver with antici....................................pation"

Congrats. I toyed with the buying an original Snoopy a few years back but it seemed expensive at the time (it was but it's more so now). Will be interesting to see what the market thinks of these in a few months time when there's more out there, as I suspect a lot may end up with dealers.

If it does what Omega hope it will do then I think the price will stabalise at around RRP in the medium term.

Omega are looking to make around 5000 of these so they won't be as rare as the 45th anniversary and will never achieve the same secondary market price.

If you like the watch and will wear it I don't think you'll lose money on it if you sell at some point and that I believe is an acceptable scenario in this hobby.

If you're buying for an investment, in the long term as they stop making them, it should increase in value but again not at limited edition values.

Hopefully so as it's a great piece with a bit of fun thrown in so the more that can enjoy it the better.

Nice enough watch just like many of the iterations of Speedmaster. I would much prefer an Ed White or an Ultraman. White and blue combination has never worked for me. If it weren’t for Snoopy this would be just one of the many versions of Speedmaster.

The standard Speedmaster is one of the few designs where the basic model outshines the ‘special’ versions. Just a better design. For me, and I’m clearly alone here, the new Snoopy is a bit of a mess. Cluttered and childish.
So, not a fan. Which is lucky, given the rarity.

That's nice watch. Not something I would actually wear on a regular basis though. It would be more of a collectors piece for me.

Completely agree. It's not an everyday watch and personally I wouldn't want it as my only one.

I don't write all that much on the fora mainly cos once I start then I'd pretty much write-off mine evenings ... these things are addictive! ;)

But, your Snoopy III looks so fantastic, I couldn't resist saying, "Wowww!". Looking at many photos online I was umming and ahhing whether to pull-the-trigger [note: i am down on waiting list for one of the London OB]. Your photos have definitely pushed me off that fence on which i was sitting! Congrats on a fabulous buy.

A quandary i do have is that, as a blue dial Tokyo 2020 speedie owner ... can I justify the heavily-blue Snoopy III as well???? ... and will my wife think that they are actually the same watch?!

I just checked out the blue dial Tokyo 2020 online. Fantastic. I do think they are different enough for you to have both.
