Thread: Recommendations for SKX007 strap

    Recommendations for SKX007 strap

So I pulled my long-forgotten SXK007 from the depths of the watch box today and the rubber strap (which was never comfortable to start with) snapped about 20 minutes after putton on the watch. Snapped right in the middle, not even at the lugs. So I need a new strap.

Any thoughts on a comfy (leather, I guess) strap that will work well with the orange bezel?

Watchgecko do a very supple flat vent strap, super comfy

    Here's mine on my SKX399

I would go for a NATO. Something that will go with the bezel.

Can’t go wrong with a NATO, tho the skx looks good on most things. Something with a flash of orange could work nicely

Erika's original black strap with Orange stripe in the middle, like this one maybe?

Barton Elite Silicone. Less than £20 from Amazon and very comfortable.

Got to be a nato with an SKX. Convert it to single pass and go for 20mm. Makes the watch wear smaller for me.

I wear mine on a single pass ‘RAF’ style strap from WatchGecko, now discontinued. It’s a single pass with textile keepers. Cheapest natos does something similar for about $6, but I can’t comment on the quality

For an SKX I'd check out:

    • The various Strapcode / Miltat custom fit bracelets, which are excellent quality.
    • Crafter Blue custom fit rubber strap.
    • Barton Elite Silicone, they do an orange one with a black bottom half which would suit this watch well.

£13 direct from Barton with code SAVE25, if you're not in a rush

Now you don’t see many car and wrist shots like that. I thought you’d broke into my car!

Did you do the patina on your skx with coffee or tea? The day/date wheel as well?
Looks quite nice I think even if it must diminish a bit the glow of the lumibrite

I think they look good on rubber straps with curved ends, either Crafter Blue or one of their plentiful cheaper imitators.

I stopped being a fan of rubber straps a while ago.

    I prefer the ZuluAlphaStraps now

I sent the watch to shadowwatchmaker on Instagram. He is in California. He does lots of seikos and lots of different patina mods. The date/day wheels are done too. This one has a NH35 movement too. Great watch. Can be made to look like a completely different watch too. The lume is very poor now to be honest but I did expect that.

Nice one, thank you the details!
Neat job and your skx is definitely good looking but I wouldn't want to sacrifice the lume on mine so I'm going to keep it original
