Very nice looks peachy..

After many years of wanting a Rolex, not really knowing which model i wanted, Sub, explorer or this Air King so I have finally bitten the bullet.
So just arrived from Parkers a 116900 Air King. Aug 2020 with Full set paperwork inner, outer box and sleeve. also still have manufacturer gaurantee until 2025.

Bracelet already my size.
This Air-King seems to split opinions.
Personally, I like it, and (rightly or wrongly!) Think the colours are quite striking!
Enjoy your new watch!
If some, like me, didn't really know/understand what was going on with the design of the air king, have a look at the bloodhound lsr and its clock.
I like the air king way better since I've seen that
Enjoy the watch!
I recently bought one myself, congrats. This watch has been such a "grower" for me; I remember absolutely hating it at launch, and wondering what Rolex were thinking. Since understanding more around the design inspiration, and seeing it more in-person, I just fell in love with it.
The yellow and green really add some pop, and I even think it works well with an Explorer in the collection.
I also like that it doesn't scream Rolex for most people. Enjoy!
Nice one hope you enjoy it!
It's an underrated model in my opinion, in the same way the Exp2 was. Might have a word about the chances of getting one when I'm at the dealers next.
Started out with nothing. Still have most of it left.
Congratulations - a lovely watch.
My first Rolex was an Air King, bought new in 1979. It was a very different beast - starburst charcoal dial with plain batons and no date. Very understated.
But yours has different merits - a more interesting, characterful design, with some nice accents and more of a nod to the original flyers' watches. And not the 'obvious' choice, perhaps. Enjoy :)

Always really liked these, though it's always been put aside for something else. I can see it being discontinued and being gutted to have missed out.
It might have been more loved if the Bloodhound had been more successful, perhaps it's tainted by association.
A really nice watch but one I did not like upon launch. Photos never really capture the beauty of this ugly beast. The 3 6 9 seems to disappear when wearing.
I picked up mine just over 2 years ago. I was even given the warranty card - I was almost disappointed!
Took me a while to warm to this AK, not because of the dial though, it was mainly the size of it especially the thickness. I still think I would like it even more if it were 39mm & maybe a couple of mm thinner.

congratulations on your watch
my first Rolex was an Air King many years ago bought for me as a wedding present by my now ex wife
but your first is a dangerous step as one Rolex is never enough, lol
i now have four and expect my white Daytona in a few weeks after quite a long wait (i sold my Air King after marriage breakdown)
That’s a harsh and binary analysis; it hit 628mph with relative ease, resulted in a huge amount of educational value to 1,000s of young people, provided economic input to the people of the Northern Cape Province involved in preparing the track, and has inspired many (if not you).
I, for one, hope we have not heard the last of it.
Congratulation
The new air king was my first Rolex as well! Congratulations!
Do love a quirky Rolex. This and the Milgauss especially. Sporty but smart.
Always liked that airking model love the black and green combination. Enjoy :)
Congratulations, Enjoy. Thanks for sharing

Watches are one of those bloody awkward things that either photograph too well or too badly. The current Explorer11 216570 Polars looks lovely in every photo I have ever seen of it but always disappoints in real life.
The Air-King is the total opposite, in real life it looks a true work of art that puts nearly ever other Rolex model to shame. It is sexy, beautiful and just plain drop dead gorgeous.
Ahhh the joys of a new watch regardless of make, colour or design.
Never goes away for me.
