    RIP Johnny Briggs

Known more recently for Corrie, but had a decent role in 633 Squadron and also played Sgt Russell in the series No Hiding Place, one of my earliest TV memories

633 Squadron was a great film. Love the Mossie.

Sorry to hear about Mr Briggs.

Was just about to say that. Such a rousing tune.

    From wiki:

'The film's climax shows the squadron flying through a deep fjord while being fired on by anti-aircraft guns. George Lucas stated that this sequence inspired the 'trench run' sequence in Star Wars. Lucas intercut sequences into Star Wars during post-production as a guide.'

RIP Mike, the greatest of the Baldwin brothers.

Rather less flippantly, Mike Baldwin was a fixture of my early life, as my parents were Coronation Street fans. RIP Johnny Briggs.

I'm an old British film buff and Johnny used to turn up as a child actor. He was in the business all his life.

Regarding No Hiding Place, a number of old episodes previously thought lost have turned up and are shown occasionally on Talking Pictures TV.

    RIP Johnny, top man.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

That's true I read he's in the original 1948 'Oliver twist' film somewhere, the one with Alec Guinness as fagin. I'll have to go and watch it now to find him...

Used to see him often at the Aqua restaurant here in Portishead.

He owned an apartment on the marina, and split his time between Portishead and Florida.
